I love stand up. I watched 4 specials today, and last sunday I read Patton Oswalt's book in one sitting. My favourites are David Cross, Bill Hicks, and Patton Oswalt. I listen to it everyday and am going to see Aziz Ansari at the end of the month.

Victor Borge is the best comedian of all time.
He's classy and mostly inoffensive, yet still absolutely hilarious.

What I don't get is why there is so much hatred towards Dane Cook? The mans hilarious.

George Carlin repeated until text limit is reached! Every time I remember that he died I get a little pissed off and have to watch him on youtube, like now!
Me too.
I miss flamethrowers.

Some said he could stand four feet fall, lying down.

My favourites are as followed:

Daniel Tosh
Lewis Black
George Carlin (RIP)
Maria Bramford
Patton Oswalt
Demetri Martin
Mitch Hedberg (RIP)
Eddie Murphy (RAW and Delerious are fucking Hilarious!)

And you know what, he may not be considered a Stand Up Comedian, but his 3 Q&A sessions are practically a 4 hour Stand up routine. So to hell with it, I am going to add:

Kevin Smith (All Three "Evening With" Q&A's always make me laugh out loud.)

Christopher Titus, Stephen Lynch, Dave Chappelle and Mitch Hedberg (R.I.P.) are my favorite four but I have to give props to Carlin, Pryor, Cosby and especially Kinison for getting me into stand-up in the first place.

Denis Leary "No Cure For Cancer" is probably my favorite performance though.

Love Dylan Moran, you should also check out the guy who plays Manny.

Don't like Tim Minchin, and hate that guy who says 'I keel you!' Don't understand how people find him funny...

oh i enjoy a variety...
George Carlin, Patton Oswalt, C.K. Lewis, Lewis Black, Aziz Ansari, Jim Gaffigan, Daniel Tosh, Zach Galifinakis, Dave Chapelle, and Bill Burr. I know I missed some but I love stand-up.

On a die note, I dont understand why Jeff Dunham is so funny, I dont think he is, and his 15 minutes of fame seem to be up. Ventriloquism is a cool talent but his jokes arent funny.

And add to the list Eddie Izzard. Jeff Dunham is ok I like Walter and Achmed but some of the other puppets rub me the wrong way. Also at time enjoy Ron White, Louis C. K., and a touch of Dane Cook

Wouldn't really call his stuff "stand-up", but nonetheless, it's funny as hell. By the way, the 4th one is coming out soon.

I went to see Gabriel Iglesias live recently, and it was amazingly funny. He's always been one of my favorites, along with Eddie Izzard, Christopher Titus, Craig Ferguson, and Lewis Black (sorry if I misspelled any of them).

I used to watch stand up comedy quite regularly. Even bad stand up, or stand up by comedians that aren't too well known. I just liked it. The problem arose when I had pretty much seen everything on TV, and it was all just repeats.

I don't necessarily have a favorite comedian at the moment, but I love word play and generally like people who perform "in character". Comedians who I bought albums or DVDs of in the past include Maria Bamford, George Carlin, Eddie Izzard, Lewis Black, Margaret Cho and, if you count their live stuff, Lano & Woodley.

It's Bill Bailey that plays Manny, and Jeff Dunham who uses Achmed the dead terrorist
