The finals are coming up and this playoff season was kinda bonkers with the Leafs losing a won game(I mean wtf Leafs), and the Penguins being swept(also wtf).

Who do you want to win?

I vote for Chicago because Marchand gets on my nerves and Hossa deserves another cup.
Although I could still see the Bruins winning because they are on a roll right now.

As a Vancouver fan I can't imagine a Stanley Cup Final that I'd have less of a rooting interest in.

Hawks, I guess. Pretty sick of the Bruins and their nonsense. Having said that, now the Bruins will win.

I'm rooting for the Bruins. While I don't follow hockey as religiously as I used, they're still my favourite team. I used to be a huge fan of #77, been sticking with the team ever since.

I just want to see Chara hit Hossa and Toews. Otherwise I don't really care. It's been a weird season and I'm just happy to get back to normal next season.

I think Chara is a great player, and yet I keep hearing people I know say he is ugly as hell and that they don't like him. I mean he isn't even a cheap player like Pronger(also really good), so I don't know why they are so hostile.

Red Wings fan here. Fuck the Hawks

Avoiding low content: Patrick Kane is a douchebag, Toews is a whiny little kid, Shaw/Bolland/Keith are dirtier than normal playoff dirty, Eddie Olczyk is a twat, I can't stand the "tank for 2-3 years to land Top-5 picks", and I hate all the bandwagon fans [footnote]And of the Original Six teams, you're tied in last with the Rangers for "most unimpressive"[/footnote]

Fuck the Western Conference, fuck the Central Division, and I hope you rot in hell with St. Louis [footnote]Although I wouldn't mind having the old Norris Division, now that would be great hockey[/footnote]

PS - Your jerseys are overrated

I dunno, he is a little weird looking. I mean just look at this:

He should really stick with a full-time beard:

It's amazing how this thread just changed into the NHL boards in a manner of a few posts.

I'm a habs fan. I know by heart that I'm supposed to not like the bruins. Their intense physical play never clicked with me either. However, I do want Jagr to win. They eliminated the Pittsburg Penguins which everyone who works for nhl.com was rooting for. (Always loved to cheer for the underdogs anyway). So...I'll give them that.

I have no problems against the Hawks though... They were the best team this "season" in terms of points.

So...I'll guess that I'll pass. I'm not interested in this final....unless we bet cookies.

My feelings (and fandom) right there. I can't root for the Hawks, so even though I don't really have much interest in who wins the Cup now, I'm just hoping it won't be the Hawks. I'm just glad it's not Penguins - Hawks in the Final, I don't know who I'd want to lose more.

I'm going with the Blackhawks, mainly because I'm a Rangers fan. But I suppose it could have been worse. We could be seeing a Penguins-Ducks finals, although then we could argue over whose logo looks worse.

I'm cheering for Chicago but I hate both teams. They're just the lesser of two evils.

Who do I want to win? It is a hard choice - I like the Bruins, they're my home team, I don't like the Hawks, I cheer when the Bruins win a game even when I'm at home watching on TV, I can't be bothered to watch a Hawks game if it's not against the Bruins, hmm, don't like the Blackhawks, like the Bruins...I think I would like the Bruins to win, yes.

I'm a Stars fan and I have no real beef with either team. I'm just hoping for an entertaining match up since watching the Stars this season was an exercise in frustration and disappointment.

It's crazy to me that hockey is a thing. When I lived in Colorado we were always excited about the Avalanche, but now in Houston that last thing I heard about hockey was there was a strike of some kind. I'm glad its over but it's funny to read about people "hating teams" that I didn't even know were playing. I'm not trying to bag on hockey- I'm sure people love it- it's interesting to see how some people are so passionate about something other people don't even know exists.

As with all sports, hockey is regional. It's not particularly popular in the southern United States, and for some reason the American friends I have all delight in reminding me of that. It seems a constant amazement to them that there is a world outside of their backyard, where people engage in interests and activities that don't register high on their priority scale.

And I'm not slamming them, either. Most if not all of them are liberal, intelligent people. It's just when it comes to sports, and most specifically sports that are not popular in their region, they cannot control their delight and astonishment at how zany it is that people like things they don't like.

I'm Canadian, so hockey is basically religion here. The only thing that really compares is football in Europe.

2008 Champion - Detroit (West)
2009 Champion - Pittsburgh (East)
2010 Champion - Chicago (West)
2011 Champion - Boston (East)
2012 Champion - Los Angeles (West)
2013 Champion? ----- Boston (East)

This is the new NHL, where we get a different champion each year, dynasties of old no longer exist (best you can hope for is a back to back or 2 in 3 years), and the champs alternate conferences. It's already been decided for you.

Blackhawks, out of sheer ignorance of everyone else in the sport.

That and I'm in the Chicago area, so not rooting for them is likely to see you on the losing side of a gun crime.

Dude you ain't hanging around the right people. The Dallas Stars are big in Texas. Don't get me wrong they are not Football huge but definitely not unknown. Hell they are even affiliated with 2 or 3 minor league hockey teams spread through Texas.

TO : I think the Blackhawks are going all the way. They have had one hell of a year.

Being from Toronto, I was cheering for the Leafs. Then, I was cheering for Pittsburgh, throwing my support behind Iginla. Now, seeing as Boston beat them both, I'm cheering for the Bruins.

Ouch, I'm sorry.

I've been watching hockey for something like 30 years, and that was one of the most painful reversals I've seen. Leafs fans must've been lining up to go off bridges.

Liverpool FC will win, of course.
Oh wait, extreme curling...

I don't really care too much about it at the moment.
This season was absolute rubbish, one that is complete will suffice next year.
But as for the '12-'13 half-ass fling, I'm going to imagine that Boston will win.
They've just been annihilating thus far with no real signs of stopping. Don't even like them, but they seem to bloody well want the big victory. So we'll see.

So to put it short, I don't care who wins. Would prefer it to be Chicago, but I have some weird feeling that it will be Boston. The real question is, how many games will it take?
