Lets face it that Wings of Liberty overall was the best game blizzard has released for gameplay.
Forget farming in diablo 3 and World of warcraft I think Stacraft 2 braught almost a carbon copy of the origonal back excluding the graphics and the predictable plot.

So what I want to know is, has heart of swarm grabbed your attention as far as I have heard from no one in my friends or colleges have even mentioned the game yet it comes out next week.

Secondly do you think the game will give starcraft users a real interface for chatting publicly and fixing a lot of multiplayer issues such as the custom popularity maps.

One thing is for certain I will be expecting a lot of dropouts and overcrowded servers in the next couple of months.

I pre-purchased it bundled with the original SC2. Mostly because it was cheaper that way, but mainly because the 'demo' campaign was interesting enough to me that I wanted more. Having completed the full campaign now I can safely say that yeah, I'm pretty excited for it.

Forget multiplayer though, I absolutely suck at RTS games. Only way I managed to actually beat the campaign was by spamming Battlecruisers, Siege Tanks and the Marine/Marauder/Medic combo.

I'm excited to watch the cutscenes on Youtube. I think it will deliver very nice cutscenes.

EDIT: Whoa, whoa, it's coming out next week? Man, that sure snuck up. I haven't heard so much as a squeak about it.

I'm pretty excited for for the expansion, but I'm just here for the story. The trailer looked absolutely awesome and the snippets were rather intriguing. Loved Raynor's "What have you done?" line, nice callback to Tychus.

As in all Blizzard trailers, they unnecessarily dramatize things. I doubt Kerrigan will spend half the game crying in the corner or contemplating on her evil deeds, but she'll be busy fighting wars and wrecking stuff. Very interested in what the actual story will be.

Damn shame though that I won't be able to get it on release. It's either Bioshock Infinite or Starcraft, and quite honestly Bioshock is the clear winner.

Amazed at how many people play SC2 for the story...I assumed it had long ago asserted itself as a multiplayer game first and foremost.

Well when Activision took over and had them chop the full campaign into 3 pieces I stopped paying attention.

Is this the last one that makes the full game?
If that is so I just might now buy the full pack, or when the price comes into a sensible range.

Hey, those cutscenes are pretty. If there's one thing Blizzard can do, it's a cutscene.

Personally, I can't do multiplayer RTSs. Don't have the multitasking capacity for it, not even close.

Hell, I only get through the campaigns by turtling like mad.

I thought the story of SC2 WoL was a trainwreck, so I hope that that has improved.

But yeah, I'm excited. I still play SC2 WoL multiplayer very often with my friends. We're around top platinum/low diamond. It will be interesting to see where we end up after HotS launches, when everybody has to learn the new units.

I have about 400-500 games of 1v1 ladder played in WoL, most of them during the first couple of months of the game's release, where I got to diamond when it was the highest league they had. The thing with SC2 multiplayer is that it is largely based on muscle memory, which needs constant practice in order for you to maintain it. If you don't play for a week or two (or a month), you suddenly come back and realize that your hands are not doing what your brain wants them to do. I need about 20-30 games to regain my muscle memory after an absence, and during all those games I get completely demolished. This is, of course, fucking depressing. Rinse and repeat every time I stop playing for a while, and yeah, I eventually stopped playing the game completely. It is just too huge of a time commitment, if you actually want to improve.

I will buy it for the campaign though. The WoL story was at times pretty retarded, and many of the missions felt too gimmicky for their own good, but I still miss playing a decent RTS campaign.

Yeah I'm one of them, granted the story to go with the singleplayer part of it was just gunk, the actual game play of the campaign was actually pretty cool and surprisingly quite varied. Having played it again recently I can't really think of any missions that are identical in objectives (such as build your base, destroy the other base)

May possibly pick this up, not really sure. Still got a bad taste in my mouth after Diablo tbh.

Though that said, I just watched the recent Vengeance trailer.

If ever there was a trailer that pushed me towards not buying it - this is it. Seriously what happened to you Kerrigan? You used to be a badass.
Of course, can't do a trailer without adding the frelling dubstep. Ugh.

As someone who has never played a game of Starcraft in his life but has a deep appreciation for the game thanks to LAGTV and PsYStarcraft, I'm really looking forward to it. The new units are a fair bit to add in an of their own right, but the changes they're making with tech trees (Tier one burrow? Fuck yeah, tier one burrow!) will serve to make it even more varied.

I'm mainly interested for the story actually since I don't really like the competitive multiplayer of SC2 in general. My friends tell me that I'm crazy that I bought the CE edition only for the story and that I'm wasting my money.

Luckily I will be doing the same thing for HOTS also. =P

I'm giving it a 50/50. Main reason why I got WOL in the first place was to play with friends, and that didn't last very long to say the very least. The campaign was enjoyable enough, and I eventually got my money's worth from the multiplayer(singles was too competitive, but found quite a bit of chaotic fun in public team games), but I think I'll wait for a sale this time around.

Also it's worth noting that my worst race is zerg, so that doesn't help matters either.

Yeah, I'm very much looking forward to the campaign. I loved StarCraft, Brood War, and Wings of Liberty. Can't say I have a whole lot of interest in the multiplayer, though.

That said, Zerg was probably my least favorite faction to play in StarCraft and Brood War, so it'll be interesting to see if they've improved it at all since then.

All I care about is the campaign. I am terrible at RTS games against humans. Starcraft is my favorite ongoing story in a series so I am excited to see what happens next. I hope I don't guess the twist like I did for Wings of Liberty, in the trailer where Mengsk's son tells Raynor he can give you what you want most, I immediately knew what would happen in the end.

I am curious as to what has happend to Kerrigan because I really hoped she would be free from the zerg after the events of Wings of Liberty, so I am hoping that she will at least be a "good" evil character.

I like playing RTS games against bots so having some missions to play as zerg will be great.

I fear I will have a similar to Mass Effect 3 style depression if the game doesn't end on an optimistic note like Wings of Liberty.

Blizzard's cutthroat pricing is making me preorder since they never slash prices like Steam.

I will complain endlessly if the game has a flawed ending.

Gameplaywise it's pretty impossible to screw up, except balancing. Storywise, based on what we know, and previous experiences, it will be a blast. I love WoL's campaign, and it's gameplay. Since this isn't a true sequel, it's merely a expansion, so i will likely love this one too
