Starcraft 2 (specifically the Zerg version), no question about it - but then again, Halo never warmed to me.
I've never actually played the first starcraft but I fell in love with Halo 3 when my brother got a free copy with his Xbox bundle. It was all I played last summer.

Neither. They're both bland (not that there's anything wrong with that) and uninteresting. Choose something else.

I hear that Pong is awesome.

If you can't run TF2 you will not be able to run StarCraft 2. It is not kind to your system

First go here : http://svc.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/ and check if you can run SC 2.

If yes, get SC 2. If no, go with Reach.

Neither. keep with halo 3 instead of reach, my bets are that it'll be almost the same (except for the campaign). I could be wrong, but I'd wait for Reach to come out and ask friends before making a decision. And I havent played Starcraft 2 or 1, so I have no opinion on that.

Well, what do you like more? FPS's or RTS's? Problem solved.

Personally I'd go with Reach since SC2 is essentially SC1, but that's just me.

From the sound of your story, I think you will get more out of Reach. You can pop in a shooter and have fun with your friends. Multiplayer in RTSs is alot more competitive and frustrating. The things some people are willing to do just to win amazes me... with shooters it's at least more about having fun.

What!? Heathen! Blasphemer! Argh! Not having played Starcraft is like... not having played Diablo or any of the early Warcraft games!

I died a little inside.

Another quick question. How do I get rid of a topic? This one posted twice for some reason.
You can't. Ask a mod to lock one of them.

And Starcraft. On low, any machine could run it, and there's a multiplayer matching system that's pretty hard to troll.

I don't think half of the people are actually reading what you typed. Some are, and they're giving intelligent advice. The others looked at it and instantly told you their preferred game.

If you can't run TF2 with a steady framerate, then you're going to be stuck on minimum settings in SC2. I'll be honest, SC2 on minimum looks terrible compared to medium settings, and it looks like you're playing the original Starcraft if you compare minimum to maximum (Starcraft's graphics weren't bad, but in this day and age you kind of want the pretty graphics that medium and maximum settings offer).

Get Reach because your experience with SC2 will be reduced if you're forced to play it on minimum (I have a friend who can't get past the lava levels because his system can't handle it, yet it can just barely handle TF2). Also on minimum you can't see most of the cool projectile effects, so stalkers look like they're having a seizure when they fight.

Starcraft 2's multiplayer is quite amazing (far better than any Halo title I've played, and I've played them all) as long as you stay the hell away from Ranked/League matches.

The single player campaign is surprisingly well done, with the missions being fun, varied (not easy to do in an RTS), and well-balanced for a variety of skill levels.

Halo Reach...well, some of the fan-advertising I've seen for it is already claiming the title of "Game of the Year" before it has even been released, and I question games built entirely on hype (I hate self-pretentious games that "claim the throne before they're crowned King", so to speak).
If you want Halo's multiplayer...well, I'm waiting before passing judgment. I speculate that it will be more of the same, but at least this time we won't have to worry about as many griefing racist 13 year-olds clogging the VOIP channels.
