Pretty much all covered in the subject title. The short story is that I only have enough in my checking account to buy one but I'm having a hard time deciding which. I've been a huge RTS fan since my first run in with C&C 3 and I love playing campaign mode but to be honest I suck at multiplayer BADLY and my computer is so bad I can barely run TF2 at a steady framerate. On the other hand hardware isn't an issue with Halo Reach and I'm pretty decent at Halo 3 Multiplayer, I may not be MLG material but I did manage to get the Recon armor and can hold my own in a ranked match. I'm probably going to love the campaign for either and do intend to buy the other one eventually but I need help deciding which one to buy now. Basically I guess it comes down to which multiplayer experience is more worth it, Halo Reach or Starcraft 2?

Get Reach! The amount of awesome stuff Bungie is packing into it is insane. Ignore idiots like Xzi there.

starcraft 2 is good, but really hardcore. If you aren't good at RTS games (like, say, me) it will just frustrate you. I only got it for the awesome map editor. Halo reach looks much better to me. The new guns are cool, forge 2.0 is going to be friggin sweet and halo has always been fun. Plus, you get a jetpack. And that's always fun. (yes starcraft fans, I know that the reapers have jetpacks, but it isn't quite the same.) Also, multiplayer is the main portion of both games, so if you don't like the multiplayer, don't get the game.

SC2 is really kind of meh. It's only good if you're a hardcore RTS fanboy. I'd say you should buy Reach. The online multiplayer is fun, even if you're not too good. SC2's online will get old and really frustrating unless you're really good at RTS.

Dear lord Halo is turrible. Just play through one of the old Halo games. Every new one is the same old recycled shit. Watered-down husk of a generic FPS.

I'd recommend any game over another Halo, so definitely go with Starcraft 2, which is actually good.
you said your computer cant run it well..so that's pretty much all is needed to be said...i have a pretty decent computer but i still cant run starcraft 2 to its fullest...don't listen to this guy he's just an FPS hater(FPS haters usually have to swear while posting about what ever they're hating)...im happy i bought starcraft 2...but I'm regretting it because i have to have most of the settings on low...go with Halo...and wait until you get a computer that can run starcraft 2 to it's fullest

I agree Halo finished after Halo 3. Why they keep making games that vaguely relate to the Halo universe I have no idea.

As to the original question it depends on the what genres you like either FPS or RTS. I think you should you get Starcraft 2.

That's a bit of a no-brainer. Have you ever heard a complaint about Starcraft? Yes? YOU LIE! Unless it's: It ruined my life! It's SO good! D:

But the choice is still yours: A shooter that was only good the first time and every sequel was just milk.

Or an RTS from a famous RTS making company with a good story.

They both seem to have tons of replay value, but if you're unsure about being able to run Starcraft 2, I'd go for Halo: Reach.

Starcraft 2's multiplayer seems a bit too intense, as well. All this 'clicks per minute and alternate build-queues' stuff sounds a bit too much like effort and learning, which is probably better invested elsewhere [ie. not in games]. Whereas with an online FPS, you can pretty much pick it up and blast away at any level.

It's ultimately your choice. That's just my 2 cents.

They are probably both going to be awesome :D I'm not sure there's a wrong answer, though if your comp isn't up to scratch maybe Reach is a good idea?

You should get:

Halo 3 - if you are a noob
Starcraft 2 - if you are a gamer
you didn't even read the question, did you? -_-
OT: It depends on if you want an RTS game or an FPS game.

Well, if you aren't going to play starcraft 2 multiplayer, I'd recommend buy Reach now and getting sc2 when the price drops, since the campaign is pretty sweet.

Reach indefinitely. Don't care what the others are saying with past issues; this Halo will be the bomb.

Seeing as you answered a question the OP didn't ask while offending all of the people who liked Halo 3, I'd say that you were a troll.

OT: Halo Reach if you like FPS, SC2 if you like RTS - simple as that, depends which one you fancy.
