In the new Starcraft 2 patch Blizzard has decided to remove losses from the profile sheet. If you are a top tier player in master or grandmaster league it is still viewable. I personally feel like this change is yet another shift to cater to casual players at the expense of other gamers. What do you think about the change?

I don't have strong feelings either way. I am after all a "casual gamer" (in so much as I do not care about my competitive score), so I'm meh on the issue.

Would like a poll option for "Could not possibly care less." If you aren't in the high leagues, then your losses don't really matter much anyways.

This is quite possibly the silliest complaint I've read in a long while.

I think its crap. Why remove it. Theres absolutely no good reason to do it except to make shitty players feel less shitty about themselves.

At who's expense? I fail to see anyone being wronged here.

honestly I think this is a good change. It will encourage a lot more people to try the multilayer and to ladder which would lead to more people playing the game. On the pro level it remains the same so it doesn't hurt the pro scene. Don't mind this change at all.

I'm all for the optional approach. It does not really matter to me though because I only play with friends against the AI and I couln't care less about the leaderboards.

Isnt that a reason in and of itself though? If shitty players feel less shitty they might play more, and everyone wins.

Also, I couldnt really care less about this change. Bugger SC2 multiplayer, get on with the campaign I wanna play ZERG!

i see where your coming from, but when i see a lot of losses on my record it makes me wanna play more and get better. I guess its just my competitive nature i dont like to lose

Can't you just subtract games played from games won? Either way most competent players hover above 50%. Keeping the same account from beginners level your ratio becomes impossible to recover really, it's not a good indicator of skill unless you are in the upper diamond/masters with guys from Broodwar.

I couldn't agree more; sometimes win/loss isn't ALWAYS indicative of actual skill...it is strategy based after all and unpredictability tied with refined execution can make a few games, or one can have a few bad games with experimentation. I'm for whatever will make more people play :D

It's going to work less poorly than the other system, however this one is just going to value the number of games you play as much as your actual skill at it. So it's still wrong, but it's less wrong than the jokefest going on over there right now.

I feel bad for people whose win/loss ratio is everything to them. It must be sad to live a life that meaningless.
