It really kind of depends on the context. Sex in Dragon Age Origins never felt forced, or thrown in for the sake of controversy. The Witcher 2 on the other hand, well not so much.
I don't think they're asking if sex should ever be included in video games. I think they're asking if any games have included sex in a way that isn't just trying to get media attention.Fappy said:Sex is a part of life. What I mean, is to cover the genital areas in shadow, or at least conveniently blocked off, that way they can still do the do, but no one has to see anything they don't want to.DoPo said:You're making this very hard for me... How about this, you can buy DLC that hides it? I'll call it "Pants DLC".
Got it. So, here is my new plan - the game ships with everybody naked. It's also very cheap. Most of the money would come from selling clothing DLC. You can have lingerie, or jeans and so on. I see some flaws here, so how about women start of in reverse - you get Strip Poker DLCs for them, since they start off with layers and layers of clothing.Judgment90 said:What I mean, is to cover the genital areas in shadow, or at least conveniently blocked off, that way they can still do the do, but no one has to see anything they don't want to.DoPo said:You're making this very hard for me... I respect your conviction and your ability to go against the group. Its pretty rare, especially on forums. That said, I think you are a little bit late to the party as sex is in nearly all forms of media already.Baldr said:Sex is a private matter between individuals, not society, therefore it does not belong in the media.
Ninja'd. This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.Fappy said:Sex is a part of life. If handled well/maturely there is no reason it shouldn't have a place in video games as well.
Ah, it's been too long since I've seen the classic puritanical take on matters. Sex is a big part of life, and books, films, games and music all deal - some more than others - with people, life and relationships. If we ignored everything that's intimate between individuals you'd also have to leave out stuff like hopes and fears.Baldr said:Sex is a private matter between individuals, not society, therefore it does not belong in the media.
