23 games counting all of HL2 as one game. I feel rather small compared to you 100+ types

I'm still kicking myself for not buying a lot more in the Xmas sales. All those indie packs... :'( That's the only bad thing I can think of

I own On-Odd 4 games on Steam (I have better things to spend my money on than video-games... AKA more video games).
I think the System could use some improving.
Or at least drop updating it for a while and get to fuckin' work on Ep 3 VALVE!

It's convenient. When I feel that I'm just too wealthy enough. Then I can go buy every Indie Adventure game on the bloody network and waste over 60 GB of my PC's space.

I don't usually use it too much, but I know it's there if I need it.

77. The number kind of scares me. The fact remains that it's in total control over your games.

I own Railworks 2 and it's all of its dlc.

No but seriously, with some steam deals on games I have been slightly interested, I have a high count of games.

...

I don't actually own Railworks 2, and therefore, none of its dlc either.

None. I was going to buy Fallout one and two off of it but once I realized that they were going to screw me(EACH ONE WAS PRICED AT 12 DOLLARS. On Good Old Games BOTH OF THEM TOGETHER WERE 12 DOLLARS. And the GOG one came with the soundtrack, wall paper, and the fallout bible.)Im not sure if I can trust them anymore so it is Good Old Games for me.

I have 42 games. Only thing that bugs me is indeed the euro conversion, but if you have friends in US there is no reason to not ask them to buy games as gifts for you.

OP. If you have slow dowload speeds, try changing the server.

I quite like it, considering how difficult it is to find PC games in stores. I have around 12 games as of right now.

Steam noob here. I have no games, as I've only just built a rig capable of running actual games. Luckily, my next pay day is going to be enormous, and I'm very excited to get stuck in.

I've got 24 games, if you include a couple of free games that Valve put up for free initially, and never decided to charge for. I like the sales, the community features, and the fact that it puts all of my games (that I bought through it -- more on that later) in one place, but I hate the fact that it's one of the most restrictive DRM systems ever created, the fact that Valve can take your games from you at any time, and the fact that non-steam games, when added to the list, don't completely integrate with the system, even if they're available on Steam. I mean, I understand that some of my older games, like Daggerfall, Battlefield 1942, and Shogo: Mobile Armor Division don't link up properly, but is there any excuse for my copies of KoTOR, Battlefield 2, or Oblivion not to link up with the page for the Steam version and get the full stats tracking features, if not the automatic updates? For that matter, why doesn't it track the hours played of all the games you add to it? It's client side, and it should be simple to track how long you've been in the bloody game.

I have about 50 games (Do multi-episodes and Mods count?)

System is good, but massivly expensive and restrictive. I normaly only buy games on sale. No preorder (did that ONCE and regretted it... Massivly cut game + wrong advertisement. Have to download the game elsewhere to get the content i paid for - Fallout 3). Wanted to buy Saints Row 2 but it is completely mutilated over steam too, so i bought it elsewhere.

The prices are totally whack for normal standart releases. For example Shogun 2 prorder... 50 euroes? I can order it at Amazon for 37. And all main titles are in that price range. Weird shit going on there. So yeah: only games i can recomend: Indie titles and on-sale older stuff.

And i bought a few games at GoG too. Good site overall.

I have 23 games on Steam at the moment and I love it. it's nice not to have to hunt down patches for some games, and it's relatively new feature for updating your graphics card is fantastic. The games are cheap and they always have fantastic sales. There's also the tie-ins for their site where if you buy Game A you get additional custom content for Game B for free. It's cool. I've never had a problem with offline play either.

83 at the moment and can safely say that I like steam, but maybe a little too much at times.

As for not being able to download while you play... Just Alt-tab out of the game and click pause update followed by resume update. This will force steam to download it anyway.

I have 2, both freebies, I am not a fan if digital distribution. Aside from it's intrinsically monopolistic nature, this thing that EA pulled on the mouthy forum poster by locking him out of a game he payed to play demonstrates a furthering of this "you don't own the game" attitude I find disgusting. You purchase a game and still literally need them to permit you to play it, which they can refuse for ANY reason they see fit?

Having a physical copy at least protects me from that in a small way. Having no physical copy means your entire collection can be cut of at their whim (ELUA "we reserve the right to change, alter, or otherwise modify....").

To hell with that.

I kinda like it, but it scares the shit out of me when I think of it's increasing power.

of course, that counts stuff like HL2:Deathmatch and CS:S, which I never touched. And Tales of Monkey Island, which is technically 5 games. Things like that.

I love Steam. It's so damn convenient, automatic updates are great, DLing a huge game overnight is no problem, the biggest ones I backup, the deals are awesome (I bought only like 3 full-price games in the last 3 years), friends-list is useful, stalking people's Steam-profiles is fun, the new screenshot-feature is a neat idea.

I don't get most people's concerns. The brother of a friend of mine is sort of in charge of all the PCs (he needs to grow a pair :p) and made a huge deal when I told said friend about free Portal a while back. WTF
Yes, it's a DRM measure, but one that also does stuff for you instead of just wasting your bandwith. Yes, it needs online activation, but it's never been easier to be online, so quit yer whining. And the offline-mode does work. My internet died a few weeks ago and nothing complained (it just took a while to notice the connection wasn't there).

People are (unfortunately) allowed opinions and personal taste, but they shouldn't make up ridiculous claims to support their "Steam sucks" stance.
