I think most people who use steam have at some point utilized the grossly inaccurate steam calculator to figure out the value of ones steam library.

http://www.steamcalculator.com/id

However I wondered just how inaccurate it is. So I compared the calculators version verses what I actually paid into steam. The calculator puts my "value" at just over 1500USD. However my cost (excluding humble bundles that get applied to steam) is actually just barely able to top 400USD.

So the question is, How much did you actually PAY for your steam library to date?

How to said:
To find this takes simple but potentially time consuming running tabulation.

https://store.steampowered.com/account/

Go to steam homepage > Select Account page > Change the account page readout from Licenses + subscriptions to Store Transactions > add up all the totals
So how much is your library worth and how much did you actually pay for it? Also, how long have you been buying via steam (which should be present on the same page as well with your first transaction)

I don't feel like adding up all the totals of what I actually paid. My current worth on Steam is 1,500 dollars though. I am sure I paid about double that, give or take.
It sounds like a lot but I have someone on my list who has a value of 4,914 dollars. I've never seen anyone spend as much money on games as he does. Every single time a game comes out, he buys it. Every time Steam has a sale, he buys every single game on sale. If you check his playing time, he has like 1-2 hours in each game. He doesn't even play them, he just buys them.

I have never purchased anything from Steam.

I only have 2 games that run through Steam which forced me to download it when installing them and those are Skyrim and Deus Ex:HR.

I'm a hoarder. I refuse to buy digital download as that won't give me anything to clutter my house.

Physical copies only for me.

As a rough estimate, I've paid $102.96 for the games on my steam account. I say rough because the various indie bundles I've bought for various prices all show up as free on Steam, so it's kind of tough to tell what I actually paid for them. I plugged in some numbers for them, but I don't really know if I'm low or high, since it was hard to tell what came with what bundle. However, I could be off by a couple hundred and still have a bargain here; my account is worth $946.08, and that's at current rates; I know some of the games have dropped in prices or even gone completely free since I bought them.

Apparently I've been a Steam member since 16 years before I was born.
Hey, you too? I got the same thing! No games and I've been members since the dawn of time, apparently.

That calculator sure is something...I don't know what but something.

I did a manual calculation anyway, I wanted to check it against the website. And I've spent £262.57 which converted seems to be $419.184.

I have no idea why, but that stupid second link to figure out how much i actually paid does not work, it REFUSES to accept my login information even though I know it by heart and tried logging in and out of steam multiple times to make sure it was right.

regardless, i'm sure i spent somewhere around 300-400, and i know I have about 1533 dollars worth by the steam calculator. I hit those sales and i hit em hard...love steam.

I have $1300.19 or $1324.84 worth depending on the site but i doubt I've paid more than $3-500 for them since I rarely buy AAA titles at release. About 80% of my games are from daily sales, publisher catalog sales and collection sales.

It didn't work for me. I have spent around $150 and if you only count digital downloads around $80 I don't exactly recall how much I payed for witcher 2 and the portal pack becausethey were on sale. I still wish I hadn't gotten witcher 2 though.

Use this site: http://wastedonsteam.com/usd/id/76561197963935446

It's much better for Stats and shit anyway... http://wastedonsteam.com/

Ranked 11421st with 1111.4 hours played.

Has played 42/84 games.

Owns 84 games for a total worth of $1112.80.

Overall account cost/hour for gametime is $1.00

Mine says:
Ranked 12255th with 1038.7 hours played.

Has played 137/284 games.

Owns 284 games for a total worth of $2856.66.

Overall account cost/hour for gametime is $2.75
It's likely above $1000 by now...
Oh man, does that ever put things in perspective: http://wastedonsteam.com/usd/id/owyn_merrilin

Apparently, I own 101 games, but I've only played 39 of them. The majority of them I've never even seen the title screen.

It says mine is 0.00, but I know thats wrong, I have over 120 titles. I can safely say I paid 2k+ for my entire library....

What am I doing wrong?

Mine says $545.69 which works out to roughly £343, but to be completely honest i've spent less considering some where on sale, and some were free (e.g. Dues Ex with my Bulldozer).

This calculator has a fundamental problem: it doesn't take into account bundles and sales. Most of the games that I have were acquired through sales or group purchases, so it give a wildly inaccurate portrayal of my spending history.

Mine is worth $403.67 according to the calculator, but I only spent about $120 on it. I always buy things on sale, or in bundles. Only thing I ever bought full price on there was an $8 game.

According to me adding up all the total of all games that weren't free, prizes or part of an Indie Bundle I've paid a total of $89.89 USD for all of my games.

According to that calculator that that figures out the value of your account based on the current prices of games my total account value is $353.71 USD.

A difference of 263.82. A winner is me, does this mean that I win both showcases Bob?
