Well neither of my parents have remarried but over the years they've had partners and only 1 of 6 has been evil (and by evil I mean I almost actually consider them evil).
I think it just depends on your parents' taste. If they prefer nice people you'll get a great step parent, if they prefer the 'bad boy/girl' types then you're in trouble.

My mother's second husband was an irredeemable **** that was insulting, controlling and very fucking tight fisted, and that's when he wasn't being physically abusive, several times he'd attack me and my mother would get in the way, other times he'd just attack my mother, yet she stayed with him anyway.
Then one day he managed to get ahold of me by my throat, one of his friends was there at the time and he helped my mother throw him out and convinced her to call the police, even after the divorce the bastard kept coming round and making my mam feel like shit.
One day though he got violent again, but by this time I was 17 and quite a bit bigger than him, let me tell you there is nothing on this earth more cathartic than manhandling the very **** you were terrified of as a child and casually throwing him out the door.
The bastard's dead now he died from kidney failure alone and in great pain, hated by even the health care professionals that were being payed to keep him alive.
My mother says tjat a good christian should never feel good about another human's suffering, but I'm not christian

My DNA donors divorced when I was 7 and my sister was a couple months old. They'd wanted to divorce sooner, but Cindy found out she was expecting.
Cindy has never remarried. Michael has remarried twice, both at least 15 years younger than him because he wants more kids. The first one was barely older than me (I was 19 and she was 23 when they split)...She was alright. I couldn't even fathom seeing her in any sort of maternal way, though, because she was barely 4 years older than me. My parents are still together, but my girlfriend and her stepmum don't get on very well at all as she's only a few years older than her and a bit of a *****.
Sean its very sad that you have to type this about me online. I don't put the blame on you though. I have known all along whats been going on. But you are now coming up to 19 and hopefully you will want contact with me. My door is always open to you. I love you and Joe more than anything in this world and always will. The heartache I have been through the last 5 years not seeing you is unbearable. I will never give up on seeing you. I find it outrages that Michael was hitting Joe with a rolling pin.
