If we were atracted to one another then yes... sex all the time, right down the hall, with someone you dont actually have to date, sounds ok to me. ultimately i would want to get a real girlfriend move out the house and have a real life... but if its THAT good... im living at home!! haha.

thats an entirely different more f***ed up matter right there. So I'll NOT be making that poll. If you'd like you may. But I know incest is wrong. I just don't think what I've asked in the poll(which by definition is not incest) is wrong. Akward yes but not wrong
You know what? Forget I even wrote that, because I just remembered the movie "Drive Me Crazy" starring Melissa Joan Hart.

Look it up. The ending more or less makes your argument for you.

While those are crappy poll options, if I had a step-sister and we were in love, I'd have sex with her. We're not blood related, so no problem. Well, I'm the guy that wouldn't mind if she had some blood relation either. That'd just mean heavy use of birth control on both our parts.

Sure why not its not like she's related to me by blood and i doubt my parent would care really since they have some common sense in their head. Still you can't shake the awkwardness you would have depending on the age of yourself and her's.

I am only going to say this once here, and it will apply to all degrees of incest.

I have only two problems with it. The first is the potential offspring, the second is that barring extraordinary circumstances it is very likely to fuck you up mentally and emotionally. Extraordinary circumstances such as "I didn't know I had a sister, let alone that it was her".

The familial bond is a very powerful thing, and most such bonds in today's world cannot involve sexual relations without being affected for the worse. However, not all blood siblings share that bond, due to distance or what have you. Take out the social aspect and children that may result if they're not careful, and who does it really harm? I'm not suggesting that the social aspect is a minor one at all; simply that it's not always there.

I have no moral objection to love between two people who don't socially share a familial bond, regardless of their actual genetic relationship. My worldview allows for two lovers who are just like any other couple other than a genetic closeness. And I would wish them all the best. I would draw the line at offspring, but apart from that, go nuts. Just be careful how you publicise it, for obvious reasons.

So, to actually answer the OP: Go for it.

And now, I shall equip my flame shield, for I am clearly a sick bastard who should be shot for valuing love and happiness over social norms.

Of course I would. There's nothing 'weird' or 'creepy' about this.

You could meet someone, like them, sex them up, and then their single dad meets your single mum, they get on (and get married), all of a sudden you and the other girl(or boy, whatever) are 'sick' and 'disturbing'? Of course not. Ludicrous. This is the same situation, just reversed.

If you've grown up together it's another issue, but that's not what we're discussing.

(side-note: I wouldn't bother unless the step-sibling was something above 'normal' though, because potential awkwardness later wouldn't be worth it. I cba with that.)

I have a situation like that in my life- at least the part of having two familes.

I have 2 step-sisters, in each family. But they're both younger than me, in their teens. In some way I will always see them like that... so it would be really creepy for me to even think about something like that.

If it happens when both of you are much older I guess I could see it happening and maybe not being as awkward. I think its weird if you meet when young.

Side note:
You trying to tell us something? :p

I don't know how to respond to this either but...

fuck it if they are only family by "step", how bad can it be?

You're related by law and nothing else. I see no reason why this would be a problem.

Now if it was a cousin or other blood relative, there'd be tons of issues.
This. I have a sister, but it's really complicated, my mum and her dad aren't married, and she was born before me, hence not being of any blood relation. So technically, I'm not bound to anything that prevents me from having a relationship with her. Not that I would, but I'm just stating the situation.

I'd rather shave off all my hair, cut off my toes and gut myself than sleep with my stepbrother. 'Nuff said.

Do you have a step sibling?

Because if you did you'd know that it's a definite HELL NO!

My step sister is attractive, but the minute they become family it's like they are an amorphous grey blob, seriously if someone asks me if my (biological) sister is hot I tell them I honestly don't know, it's the same with my step sister.
