[[EDIT - THE LAST OPTION SHOULD SAY 'RETRO' AND NOT 'CASUAL'. Sorry, had casual gaming on my mind]]

The question came to me as I've just stopped playing my MegaDrive after plugging it in an hour or so ago.

At this moment in time, as well as my Xbox360 and my Wii, I also have my Mega Drive (with 'Sonic the Hedgehog' in it) and N64 (with 'Zelda: Ocarina of Time' in it)plugged into my TV, with my SNES and Sega Master System sitting on the shelf beside it.

I still play GBA titles on my DS and I'm disappointed that the DSi has removed that ability.

So do you still play retro games and on retro consoles. If so, why? If not, why not?

Yup. Still got the ol' NES hooked up, and I think the PS1 officially classes as retro now as well.

I truly have yet to find a console as awesome as the SNES, truly it is the god of consoles.

The joy of having old systems is playing them. Donkey Kong is great fun on the Atari and Duck Hunt never gets old.

Plus when you compare the retros to the Wii, you get a weird sense of accomplishment, which I don't understand.

Over the weekend I played and cleared Heretic, Doom 1, and Doom 2 with all expansions. And it was the most fun I've had in a while. Other than that, tetris is still the bomb.

I still get a good 5-6 hours of play time on my NES every week. The old games are the best.

Having a pal over and powering through Golden Axe on the Genesis is still more satisfying then most modern games I could pick up. They don't make them like they used to.

I don't have the old consoles, but I still play some retro games on my computer once in a while.

I just beat Gunstar Heroes on XBL yesterday, making it the third console I've played it on (Genesis, Wii, 360), does that count?

Yep, I've got my SNES hooked up right next to my 360. I think I get more gaming use out of the SNES. The 360 is used mostly for streaming videos from my computer.

Sometimes. I just saw the Escapist show covering worms 2 on XBLA and suddenly I have an urge to play Worms (the original).
I got a bunch of emulators recently (I own all the consoles in question, no illegal shenanegins, I'm just too lazy and have too little space to set them up) so I can play my old PSX games on PC and DL'd a couple of old SNES games (games that I own in cartridge form, unfortunately there are no cartridge jacks for PC), so that I could have some nostalgic retro fun. Some of them are just as much fun as they ever were after a 10+ year break, others notsomuch.

The only time I've broken out the PS2 since getting my Xbox 360 was when the 360 RROD popped up and I was forced to go without it for a couple of weeks. That said, I wish I hadn't sold my N64, and should be showing my PS2 more love.

Define 'retro'. I still play my Dreamcast, if that counts.
I think 'retro' can be labelled to anything up to the 'Fifth Generation'

(i.e. up to PS1, N64 and Dreamcast)
