You obviously did not read my previous post. I clearly stated I cannot judge the game since I have not played it. So I never said it was bad. What I said was that I am so repulsed by the removal of dedicated servers/mod support that I do not care to even try and see whether it's good or not, even though this was practically a Day 1 purchase for me prior to the announcement. It was just that much of a deal-breaker for me.Hyper-space said:sooo.....you never played the game, yet you judge something you have never experienced. that would be like me refusing to see Avatar, then say it sucks.Tom Phoenix said:Yes, you are definitely the only one, since I cannot see a single good reason why someone (other then Infinity Ward) would want dedicated servers removed. If nothing else, they are an option for players.Hyper-space said:edit: Also, am i the only one actually glad that IW decided to not use dedicated servers? im down 50k points in BC2 because of dedicated servers.
And I never played Modern Warfare 2. The removal of dedicated servers and mod support was too much for me and I refuse to even pirate the game.
the problem with dedicated servers is that if you disconnect in the middle of a game, you lose all your points, while in MW2 you get directed to a new game, meaning that you can continue without missing out on the points you gathered.
And disconnects are not something that should be happening very frequently. Make sure your anti-cheat (whatever BC2 uses; usually it is Punkbuster) is up to date.
