That armor is inefficient and bulky. This is true power armor: I'm pretty sure a Spartan would win in a fight against an Imperial soldier.Fondant said:This is power armour.

No they didn't. Every Stormtrooper was a clone still, they were just cloned from different sources. After the Clone Wars, the Kaminoans rebelled and joined the Rebel Alliance, so the Empire put them down (brutally) and took control of the cloning chambers on Kamino. The only citizens who ever joined the Imperial Navy were those who became officers. All Stormtroopers are cloned from someone.Darkside360 said:Clones by far as they were breed to be the best. In the later years of the empire they actually allowed citizens to join the army so their performance went down.
By clones, I meant the original clones. There were still Jango clones being made, just not at the rate that the Emperor would have liked. That's why the rest were taken from other samples. Also, all clones were basically used as cannon fodder, except for Vader's Fist and a few elite detachments. And actually, anyone could volunteer to join the Imperial Army. They wouldn't be used as cannon fodder quite like the clones, but they would still be fighting on the field in other roles. And I've played Battlefront 2. That level where you retake the cloning facilities and prevent the kaminoans from leaving was my favorite in the entire game.Trivun said:That's what I'm saying, except that it wasn't nearly half. EVERY STORMTROOPER WAS A CLONE. It's just that they were cloned from different sources of DNA, not just Jango Fett (with the exception of Vader's Fist, his personal bodyguard). The events leading to this are detailed in the game SW Battlefront 2, which is recognised as canon in the Star Wars Extended Universe.
I am well aware of the technical definitions of the different blaster rifles. Most people do not, I was merely putting it in a way that most will understand. The clones carried a more powerful weapon than the storm troopers where issued with. Also the greatest weapon in star wars is still the S-5 Ascension pistol.TheMatt said:I mean this is a non-offensive way but, most of you are idiots.Simriel said:Also clones carry a heavy blaster rifle, whereas storm troopers have a standard blaster.
They are NOT the same army. Normal clone troopers used the DC-15 and clone commando's used the DC-17 there is no such thing as a "heavy blaster rifle". ARC troopers got the DC-17 sometimes but generally speaking used Verpine (insects) weapons.
The ONLY clone troopers in service by episode 5 were the 501st, Vader's personal task force.
Clone troopers are superior in EVERY (save the obvious one of having a life span of no more then 30years) way to storm troopers. Storm troopers were just normal men who joined the army, were found to be good, and relegated to the Storm trooper corps.
Think of it like this, normal ppl with not a hell of a lot of talent were made infantry. If you were good, as in run fast, jump high, you were made a storm trooper. Think of them as the SWAT team compared to normal police officers.
My Star Wars knowledge is encyclopedic. I own every book. Yes, I am a giant nerd.
For true fans, this ones for you "Long live THRAWN"
How dare you! I hate the Yuuzhan Vong, brutal savages. I'll stick with my technology and machinery thank you. Thrawn>The Yuuzhan Vong. Sure, he's evil and fairly sadistic, but he's a genius and he's the only alien to reach such a high rank. Go Thrawn!!Simriel said:I am well aware of the technical definitions of the different blaster rifles. Most people do not, I was merely putting it in a way that most will understand. Down with Thrawn, Stupid blue asshole. Come on the Yuuzhan Vong!
Knew i would get that. Thrawn was cool ill admit. But the coolest person in star wars is still mace windu. The guy invented a new lightsabre style! Also wasn't he like the first revenchist since well... reven?Eipok Kruden said:How dare you! I hate the Yuuzhan Vong, brutal savages. I'll stick with my technology and machinery thank you. Wrong. A space marine due to the black carapace interface can move in power armor as though he wasn't wearing it. And a marine can move pretty damn fast.Eipok Kruden said:That armor is inefficient and bulky. The chief is still smaller, lighter, and more agile. His hands are also smaller so he can use a larger array of weapons and vehicles. I'll take small and agile over big and bulky any day.Simriel said:Wrong. A space marine due to the black carapace interface can move in power armor as though he wasn't wearing it. A space marine is FASTER than an average guardsman despite his bulk. They would more than likely be as agile as each other. Which is where the marines more powerful weaponry would come into play. And i mean default weapons, not those stolen from aliens.Eipok Kruden said:The chief is still smaller, lighter, and more agile. Sweet, someone else who knows Clone Trooper history (Battlefront fucking owns). Saves me having to type.Trivun said:The Clone Troopers were all the same, but the Stormtroopers weren't, despite being clones. In between Epsiodes 3 and 4, there was a rebellion on Kamino when the Kaminoans sympathised with the fledgling Rebel Alliance and started using the DNA of Jango Fett (kept on record) to create new clones to help the Rebels. The rebellion was put down and the Empire took control of the cloning chambers, and so the 501st Legion (Vader's own personal guard, Vader's Fist) were the only Stormtroopers left who were pure Jango Fett clones. Every other legion was forced to integrate with new clones taken from a variety of sources, usually high-ranking officers in the Imperial Navy. Personally I think this made the Stormtroopers more diverse, but weaker as well as they no longer were able to fight with the same troop cohesion and comfort as they did when they were all from one source. Obviously Vader's Fist were still as good as ever though, but the new guys weren't battle hardened like the Clone Troopers were. Therefore I think the Clone Troopers were better.
