Poll: Superman Vs. Batman

I've read some of the comics, and I think Batman, just because he's a normal guy, and also because I saw, after Dark Knight came out, that "Tech of Batman" documentary, which showed that most of the stuff he uses could be made (or already has been, it's just not fully complete yet). Also, in an actual fight, well, Batman does always carry some Kryptonite (SP?)on him at all times in a lead lined pouch on his utility belt, just in case.

Superman is Bruce Wayne times infinity.

Bruce Wayne lost his parents when he was a kid, Superman lost his planet when he was a toddler. He never knew his real parents. Bruce Wayne's a playboy millionaire, he could at any time retire from being a vigilante. Superman is Superman; he can't hide from the fact that he's not human and he can't ever live a normal life. Batman's a rich guy fighting acid burnt mental patients, while Superman routinely takes on cosmic threats to planet Earth.

It's not really a fair contest.

Two words: super speed. Superman's comparable to the Flash. Sometimes favorably.

So long as Superman lands a diamond shattering first punch, Batman's dead. No matter how many green rocks he's got safely stowed away in his utility belt, they don't help if he can't get to them in time. It all comes down to who gets the drop on who.

It wouldn't be easy for Batman to do. Doesn't Superman also have super hearing?


Superman is only vulnerable to two things besides Kryptonite (and other yellow sun blocking things): mind control (which he's still fairly resistant to) and magic.

Alright, I know this has been done to death already, but I'm putting a little spin on it and I'm using it to settle an argument between my friends. Ignoring powers and stuff like that, who do you think has the better character. This includes personality, backstory, and relationships. Please post why you think what you do as well. Thanks.

Batman, because Superman is just too perfect. Batman has the flaws that make him human.

Superman has lots of flaws, but the biggest one of all, which is the one everyone thinks he is not a good super hero, is the reason why he is. He has morals and ethics, something that Batman would drop if he could get his man. Superman is moral and just all the time, tell me if you think it's easy to be moral and just all the time? Ever littered or heard that someone did something wrong and you didn't do anything about it. Superman hasn't and that's why he is better. He always makes the decision that does not kill anyone. That's admirable wussy. Batman just gets more votes cause everyone wants to be him, where Superman fans want to be like him. Too many haters.
Also Superman should get a sympathy vote cause he can potential never be with a women either.

Superman called Batman the most dangerous man he knew. That's enough for me to vote for Batman, even Superman is afraid of him.

Besides, most of those "flaws" were shoehorned into Superman way down the line, Batman started with them.

Ive read a comic or two.. not enough to call my self a true comic book reader but from cartoons films and so on i'd choose batman every time hes more complex with a true back story unlike superman who is just 2D in my mind. (although the smallville series is helping to develop superman)

We all know it's Batman, he kicks Superman's arse even when he doesn't pull out Kryptonite on him. Frankly the only two people who get Batman are Bane ("get" may be an understatement if you've read the story) and Judge Dredd. Judge Joker!

Batman gets the power from years of pushing himself to become a better person.

Bonus points: Batman plays a good anti-hero and he actually beat up Superman.

Traumatised rich kid doing good (as long as you don't piss him off too much) generally makes a better rounded character than the traumatised God from space...

Batman also makes for a more human character (well duh), he has flaws and weaknesses, as opposed to being an unstoppable Gary Stu.
