Poll: Survey for Curiosity's Sake: Gender of MLP:FiM fans

So, earlier last week, I was chilling with my friend and my girlfriend, and he suggested we watch MLP to pass the time until our other friends arrived. My girlfriend agreed heartily, and I jokingly said "MY LITTLE PONY? GIRLS LIKE THAT SHIT?"

It wasn't until I mulled it over during the Fluttershy episode where she becomes a model that I realized...I kinda meant it as at least a halfway serious question...

So, just to sate my born-from-a-joke curiosity, I do wonder: What's your gender, Escapist FiM fans?

A bit silly trying to work from here... since there's a much larger number of guys to girls on most forums.

IMDB does some of the work I guess, females tend to rate it higher but more males vote. I think Males aged 18-29 there are ~200 votes average 9.3 and females same age there are about 120 votes and 9.4 average.


It's actually the people younger then 18 who bring down the average rating to 8.8

Just to point out, that this site is predominately male, so this poll really won't help you get an idea of very much. To get meaningful data you'd need to ask X amount of males and X amount of females and then ask them whether or not they like it, or something like that.

Just as the statistics on Youtube mean very little because they do not account for all the people who watched it elsewhere or on the television itself.

Female. I used to LOVE it when I was younger, my mum said I used to watch it about 3 times a day.
I don't understand why it appeals to older men, but reading these responses help me get a better understanding. My boyfriend doesn't like it, although I think he secretly does and doesn't want to admit it.

I don't think you'll get accurate results from the escapist, the user base here is 80% male.

However back on topic, female and yes I do enjoy it.

Male. You could have saved yourself the time and checked the youtube video demographics; I think I've seen one that actually mentioned females. The rest are all like 13 - 17, 18 - 24, 25 - 34, 35 - 44 male.

And as others have pointed out, the escapist is predominately male.
