It's kinda weird being a girl in this fandom. It's a Girls show. But all the fans are dudes so being a female fan of a show aims at girls puts you in a minority. What crazy times we live in.

Yeah, but at least you won't get as many weird looks if you talk about it in public.

Wait, girls watch ponies? I thought this was a show for men!

Male.

I have to say, I never thought I'd see the day in which I would be watching AND enjoying something like My Little Pony. FIM however really surprised me by it's diverse characters, it's appealing art style, and being surprisingly intelligent for a show that's based on a franchise that spawned something like this:
*gag*

While I can't say it's the best cartoon I've ever watched, it's certainly a step in the right direction in terms of the quality of kids shows. Especially since most cartoons of the past five or so years have been total stinkers. i.e. "My Gym Partner's a Monkey".

Your poll results are going to be fairly skewed. As much as I am aware that there is a large population of female forum members, the forums are still largely male; the question, thus, becomes moot.

I'm a male, and Friendship is Magic is the greatest thing on the internet. (though I've somehow resisted the temptation to get a pony avatar...)

I don't watch MLP but am curious to see the statistics. I'm a little surprised that there are far more males here who watch it than females. Of course there are more males on these forums than females so I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm a little too afraid to watch the show because I might be converted into a brony next...

A lot of guys watch this show because it's not really made for girls. Sure that's the target audience, but the animation style and storylines are more reminiscent of Cartoon Network shows we haven't watched since we were kids.

Shows like the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab resonated with a lot of us 10 years ago when Cartoon Network was having its Golden Age. It's a breath of fresh air to see shows like that still being made.

Personally, I love the show. I'm not ashamed to admit it, and most other guys wouldn't be either.
