Eating human - or most animals really - is relatively complete nutrition if you eat the whole thing. Especially the liver. Eating just muscle, though, is not.
Well yeah, but if I'm remembering correctly the proteins form human flesh don't brake down well so it's not "good" for you. I think I heard cannibalism has been show to cause brain damage. Although that might have been some other animal and they might not have been omnivores. I think it's a case of "it will work for now."Pirate Of PC Master race said:According to my personal interpretation, Human meat has nearly 100% of nutrients for human dietary needs.
It would be a waste of perfect high grade 50~200lb meat.
If you're worried about a blood born diseases like HIV you would likely be fine eating him as long as you don't have any cuts in your mouth. Stomach acid is very good at killing viruses. Bacteria? Cook the guy. I'd be more worried about getting blood in your eye or something.Gennadios said:Even handling blood could be dangerous. Guy could have some really freaky diseases that aren't immediately visible.
I was going to give you crap about growing with LED's as the full spectrum of sunlight is difficult/expensive to reproduce. Also the fact that LED's intensity drops off fast so you need the light close to the plant. This is my experience with aquarium lighting by the way, I have fully planted tanks and its only been recently that LED lights are being made that can penetrate a deep tank and provide the right lighting to have your plants thrive.Lil devils x said:You use vertical farming with LEDS, and most here use well water. I grew up on a Hopi farm. A farm that big is not needed at all. I am Hopi, we do not use the same methods. I am well aware of how to self sustain even in the harshest of environments, that is what we do. Hopi farmers view western farmers as extremely wasteful with little results to show for the resources used. There are still parts of our reservation where no technology is allowed and they still live as they have for thousands of years, if anyone were to survive an apocalypse it would be Hopi. Do you know how much underground area you would need to sustain a farm big enough to support you. Also how do you expect to get water, from taps?Lil devils x said:You get your ass underground and use your generator solar and thermal power with grow lights to grow your food instead of eating nasty raiders.

Then what the hell do you think you are eating when you eat regular meat? Useless parts of pig that grow just to be eaten by other animals?Secondhand Revenant said:Muscle doesn't sound good for eating though.
Yea they have come a LONG way with LEDS, and with their energy usage and longevity as well, this I think is hands down the most cost effective and recourse efficient way to indoor farm. I have some of the LED grow lights in my wall garden, and they are great!Serinanth said:I was going to give you crap about growing with LED's as the full spectrum of sunlight is difficult/expensive to reproduce. Then I did some reading, its amazing how far LED's have come =) And from what it looks like those grow LED lights are not made to be pleasing to the eye like the fish tank ones, that vertical farm in Chicago has some serious UV color to it.
