With all the hype and news about swine flu is anybody really bothered?

If I get swine fu now, i'll be better equipped to fight it later in the winter. Also, if i get it now and miss my exams i'll get marked based on my coursework/previous exams which are good. Give me swine flu people!

I think (and no offense to level headed Americans), but the US seems to make a big deal out of these things. It being a neighbour of Mexico doesn't help.

And considering how much money there is to be made selling those cute little air filter breathing masks, it's no wonder how they blow things out of proportion.

But yeah, if you have access to healthcare, it's just a flu. A friend of mine has swine flu, and it's a pain in the ass at worst when you live in a developed nation.

I'm also bothered by the hype. I really just came because I wanted to vote "no" but I might as well add in that it's just another scheme to try and scare people and get rid of perfectly good pigs.

Oh, and flu (by definition) can mutate, meaning that the flu you catch now will not protect you AT ALL from the flu you might get in winter.

Beh. I've had flu before. It sucked but I got over it. My immune system is pretty good, so if I get this I'm sure i'll be fine. Not bothered/worried at all.

no im not really bothered about the flu, what i AM bothered about is the pigs nobody else seems to have noticed that pigs have declared AALL OUT BIOLOGICAL WAR, therefore we must respond with greater consumption of bacon butties.

I was joking of course. I'm no biologist. But if I get it, it won't be all bad, i'm not really young or elderly or living in a poor country without antibiotics etc. so it shouldn't kill me.

It's not present in my country yet, so I have nothing to be worried about. I'll be worried about it, when it does reach my area, as pig farms are basically run by an american money-hungry company which already wanted to sell disease infected pig meat (it happened somewhere around 1 year ago).
