In some game (preferably shooter games) are you the type of person, who uses tactics more often or accessorizes? If so then why?

I'm more of a tactics person. I like using tactics because on the battlefield they do a lot more damage then accessorizing my guns and equipment. But that's just for me.

A combination of both sounds best to me, use accessory's to maximise the potential damage done by tactics. That is to say, if you specialize in certain tactics, then you should use the equipment that suits those tactics.

A great man once said "The direct and indirect lead into each other in turn. It is like moving in a circle--you never come to an end." Thus, in terms of Tactics and equipment, THE BEST of all things is to use both together. Then you can surprise your enemy.

In games like Halo and Call of Duty, I use tactics. I find it a better way and it makes it overall easier. I'd rather hide behind a corner and drop a satchel or a grenade or two then run in with the best gun. Sometimes though, I'll go in guns blazing, because I know I can win with the terrain or other perks, accessories, etc.

Well with games like Crysis and COD online, accessories are a vitla part of tactics, and I cant think of any other game that requires them. Could you be more specific about what you mean by accessories?

I thought accesories/loadouts were a valid part of tactics rather than a separate entity.

You wouldn't fight a tank with a shotgun if you had access to an RPG and C-4 would you?

This confuses me. There are people who play online FPS who spend time looking for the perfect gold plated Mac-10 that totally matches their uniform instead of working out how to kill the other guys?

-getting a bigger and better gun
-maxing it out to run and gun everyone and go where ever the hell you want on the field

that's mainly accessorizing. tactics are

-using a weak gun to your advantage.
- finding a sniping spot with an awesome view.
-throwing a grenade in a room before you enter.

(just examples)

edit- another tactic (can't believe I forgot this) FLANKING!

I think the question is a strange one, as your "accessories" are in fact a part of your tactics. Really the gear has very little to do with it, because no matter how you choose to go about reaching your objective you will always want the best to support you. From the highest powered rifle(I'm not saying this is always what you want) to the grenade with the largest blast radius, the gear is merely the tool used to implement the tactic. Unless you go Solid Snake around snapping necks, in which case you're just badass.

Well duh, I can't go into battle if my character's weapons don't match them! I mean, can you stand clashing colors and patterns? If I'm going to be fighting people, I need to look good.

Funnily enough, this is how I play Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. I choose aesthetically pleasing guns and armor, regardless of their effectiveness(Although most of the pretty guns and armor are good).

Frankly I think that tactics plus accesorising go hand in hand, or rather that equipping yourself before a fight are like pre-opt tactics.

What you choose to bring into a battle field also determines what kind of tactics you are able to use.

You don't really need tactics when your secondary fire mode is the equivalent of a tactical nuclear warhead!

Yeah, in most games, I find getting crazy equipment is better than tactics, since tactics can only take you as far as the programming will allow. If it were real life I'd prefer more of a balance, but that's that.

I suffer that same problem, though it's usually an issue with my weapons...but that only happens in games like PSO, PSU, and Mass Effect, as for most FPSs, I use what I've got on hand.

If you mean upgrades by accessories... when I can, but I tend to find myself using weaker weapons I am familiar with when most people would move onto stronger weapons. I'm the guy who's still using the pistol against enemies most people would be using rifles on... and winning if the odds aren't too great. Its not because I'm an awesome player, its just that I tend to favour weapons I'm most familiar with. In Ratchet and Clank I'm still using the Omniwrench and I'm on the fifth planet where I really should be using the guns. (That said I'm starting to run into serious trouble there.)

Overall, I tend to veer towards tactics. I only accessorize when good tactics simply won't suffice.

And Sun Tzu knows a little more about fighting than us, because he invented it!
