cool tattoo :)
i kinda want one, but i have a low pain threshold, and i cant decide what kind to get anyway XD
They really aren't that painful (though I have a high pain threshold, so maybe they would be for someone else). If you want to get one, try somewhere like your outer ankle (above the bone) or your inner wrist, it hurts less in those areas. Also, if you really think you want to get one but aren't sure you'll be able to handle it, you can ask the tattoo artist to go over a line without ink. That way you'll know how it will feel and whether you can handle any pain, but you won't have a permanent, unfinished line if you find out you can't take it.
hey, thanks! :) thats great advice, i might get one for my birthday now =D

Is it OK to have tatoo's on your wrists if you are going to work in a bank, or a shop, or anywhere that requires a uniform?
It really varies from place to place. Some places don't care, while others may ask you to cover it. I have a tattoo on my wrist (It's 3 posts up) and I haven't had an issue yet that wasn't solved with a large watch, bracelet, or long sleeve shirt.

Seems to me like it's something you'll probably regret later.
You are a lot less likely to be hired for a job if you have visible tattoos/piercings
As for piercing it probably depends on which ones. Earrings like most women have probably won't make a difference but something like eyebrow piercing probably matter.

Yeah, basic earrings would be accepted. I actually meant on guys, any sort of piercing would basically knock your chances of getting the job

I'm cool with tattoos. Especially gaming related ones. As long as its not another stupid Triforce tattoo.

I want the daedric letter "Oht" on my wrist. You may recognize it from somewhere...

I've recently started thinking about getting a tattoo in the next few years, but I'm not sure what it should be. All i know is I want it somewhere on my arm, but not the shoulder area.

True in most areas. But it also depends on where you work. I don't think it would really deter your chances of getting a job at a store on Height Street in San Francisco. But that's a radical example. But yes, in general it will decrease you chances for getting a job.

Well yeah up in Haight, but that's Haight. In like Powell and stuff where you see all the people in suits, I think it'd be a no

I cant say ill never get one, but i wouldnt just put some random crap or the ultimate cliche of a foreign language i know nothing about on my body. If i ever got one it would have to be something meaningful to me.
Exactly! That's what I've done. I've got:

1) A Chinese dragon on my right shoulder to represent my Chinese side
2) A Chinese tiger on my left shoulder cos I was born in the year of the tiger
3) A tribal design at the base of my back connecting 5 stars, each one a different colour and representing a member of my family
4) A white rose (favourite flower) on my hip.

OK, can't really explain that last one, I think my boyfriend just bought it for me so that he wouldn't have to buy me flowers ever again lol.

And admittedly, the tribal part of my star tattoo was inspired by my Gameboy Advance SP, cos I had the tribal one! My little brother designed it for me, he's awesome at stuff like that.

I like all of my tattoos to mean something so that I think of that thing when I look at them.

They're alright... some are cool to look at..

I have none, and don't really plan on getting any.

Mainly because, I don't want to pay for it, and I don't like the idea of having something on me I can never get rid of.

Plus... they'll look tacky and retarded when you get older... Older people with tattoos just make me laugh.

I have a few tattoo's, I have a full sleeve on my left arm, 2 chest pieces ( one symmetrically on each side ), ball of my shoulder covered on my right arm, and a fairly big back piece. I have a bit more to go before I'm done what I want( 2 rib pieces and a half sleeve on my right ). I don't think anyone should have a problem with whats on someone else's body. My girlfriend has no tattoo's or piercings ( her ears...but that's hardly piercings from what me and my friends have lol ) and we get along great...whats on someone's body has nothing to do with what they're like. And for any comments on jobs and whatnot, I am currently a bartender, but at a casino... I wear "business attire" a lot of times for different events... I keep all my tattoo's under a long sleeve buttoned shirt ..when I'm "dressed up" you couldn't tell me apart from anyone else... and I've never had a problem getting a job. Keep it off your neck and hands and you're fine, because ... really... how many job interviews do you go to with a T-shirt on ... if you answered more then 0 and they hired you ... they wouldn't care if you had tattoo's anyway I'm sure ...

Not everybody on Powell wears a suit. There's the mall and I'm sure places like Spencers hire people with eyebrow rings. Also places like Starbucks.

I was thinking more union square area, also I've never found the Spencer's there. Need to go there to get a bigger strobe light. Starbucks will most likely hire you no matter what. They're like the McDonalds of the drink world

I love tattoos.

I've got five myself, going for a few more pretty soon.
The next one I want to get (if I can ever find a decent enough image) is a phoenix. Probably be the most meaningful tattoo I get really, and honestly if anyone knows where to find attractive images of a phoenix and could point me in that direction it'd be heroic.

I've got a self-designed swallow and vine on one side of my chest and a friend-designed head of a gypsy lady on the other side. I will soon get an octopus/anchor in the middle.

Once you get one, you get tons. I can't wait. I view them as reminders of the stages of my life and enjoy any tattoo with any sort of meaning.
