okay so, in my media A2 class, were starting too look at the representations of teenagers in the media. We were told to go and look at some stuff representing teenagers in the new media world. I was looking at a few websites about teenagers, and didn't really get anything i wanted to use.
So i thought i would bring the topic to the escapist, and ask you what you thought :)
Please answer the poll, and anything you can post would be greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU

PS

the poll has the the questions as "they", only because i would like to get answers from both teenagers and non - teenagers. This is an open poll that anyone can answer! so please do!!

"They are represented unfairly with bias to what the media wants".

Although I'd like to add "Just like everything else".

Teenagers are represented fairly. I see plenty of stories of them doing stupid things, and plenty about them doing great things in their community. That's about it.

Where i live, only very rarely is a teenager recognised as having done something useful. Most of the time its just sex crazed drug taking scum.
Then again, my region also has the highest percentage rate of teenage pregnancies in all of the EU

terribly! they are all made out to be a bunch of stabbing, drug taking sex monkeys!

Just like anything else that is ever repsented in a newspaper. Goods news is no news and no news is no profit.

I, as a teenage reguraly read papers (It's a rare feat, I admit), but let's compare how many GOOD things they say about teenagers compared to bad?

I see American media reverting to Stereotypes a lot.

Also it's spelled "survey" just in case you get marks for spelling.

They are represented fairly, considering the ones here.

They're represented as stupid,drug-taking, retards.

Most of them are panicking because they might enforce a regular drug test,or what they heard.

In whatever fleeting and frankly awful glimpses of stuff like the Bill or Holby City I've seen, teenagers are usually presented as obnoxious assholes or immature and naive. I don't think I've ever seen a teenage character on TV that acts like I do.
