I actually just played Tekken 6 last weekend with my friends.
I've never liked Asuka, not because she's bad or anything, she just isn't my type of character.

I seem to always kick a ton of ass with Yoshimitsu and recently started becoming l33t with Dragunov. They're both finicky characters to play with, but if they get on a roll they are absolute dominators, completely unstoppable.

Is Xiaoyu in Tekken 6? If yes then I shall use her, as I did in 3,4 and 5.
She most certainly is.. and she's even more slippery and tricky. Sadly she's also probably hit for hit weaker than she's ever been but, true to past form, once you get on a roll with her she's very hard to stop. And she's still damn fun to play as.

I don't play as Asuka. Most of the characters I play from are Tekken 3 ones because I grew up with it, and to a lesser extent, a few Tekken 2 ones like Kazuya. I would like to think I am fairly good with more than a couple of characters. For example: Hwoarang, Jin, Law, Kazuya, Yoshimitsu, Raven, Paul, Devil Jin (though he feels a bit cheap), Eddy and the various Jacks. I haven't run into this problem with Asuka online...Yet...

Devil Jin, Kazuya, and Raven are pretty much mastered. I know about 80% of their moves, so I have no need for Asuka. I know what you mean though, she is overused, along with Lili... God I hate her.

What's wrong with Lili? If there's anyone I really hate going up against, it's Kuma/Panda.

Goddamn bear.

Fighting a good Lili player is like fighting a fucking torpedo. She's my achilles heel.

Damnit, I hate Lili. And Miguel. And Alisa. And to a fairly lesser extenet, Zafina. And I'll tell you why.

From Tekken 1 to Tekken 5, every character had a style. Whether I played against the character or not, I immediately saw patterns and technique in their movements. I could gauge them; not necessarily read them, but gauge them. Their moves made sense.

Then came the little fuckers listed above.

They have no technique. No flow. Their movements are fuckmothering random. They make no sense. Especially Miguel and Alisa. You (not you, but the generalized "you") mean to tell me that someone who moves with such a lack of grace or skill as Miguel can stand toe to toe with the Mishimas? I think not.

I have always been a Tekken fan and recently bought Tekken 6. Reading a few of your posts I can see people are having a general fustration with the new button bashing feel you get when playing online. The problem isn't Asuka in general but more the mechanics the game is using.

Problem 1: The bounce. originally if you got knocked down a skilled played could continue to punish you with maybe 1 to 3 more hits, now if you are unfortunate any average player can outright decimate you with you unable to stand up, worse if your in a corner.

Problem 2: The Combo flow. Again combos were in past i.e T3 and tag more linea. example hitting a general height, high or mid and if catching you out with a low it would be a soft hit that allowed the overwelmed player to take at least some damage. Now however combos are practically unstoppable going high low high low and almost certainly knocking you down at every hit.

Problem 3: The Anime gang. This is my favriote wingh, since tekken 3 every character has had an air of realism. Example Jin did Karate and you could see it in his moves, as Howrang with Taekwando, King Wrestling etc. Now we have a bunch "sailormoons" that are rolling impossible on the floor or slapping you senless with more power than a King drop kick. Makes the game messy even worse when a simple 2 button combo from lili, Alice, or safina or the fat kunfu ball "bob" is deadlier than anything ever concieved in the game.

Problem 4: The speed. this is a criticism ive heard before and its true. The game is a tad to quick making it again less skillful and more dependent in a quick session of button bashing that with a bit of luck sees even the best players defeated.

WOW a bit of a long post you can see but i believe that this is what people were trying to say.
