I am so glad I'm relatively intelligent, some girls give females a bad name with their ditzy comments and total lack of appreciation for anything other than clothes.

This is my opinion, if you guys are into that kind of thing, well my bad.
It's possible to be ditzy and intelligent at the same time... thankfully. I love that. I couldn't be interested in someone entirely stupid, but I also couldn't be dealing with a super-intelligent girl who takes herself and life in general far too seriously. My last girlfriend had plenty of daft moments despite being a Politics & Ecomonics student at a good university.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I like conversations about kittens and daft things as much as serious stuff. But then, I'm from Essex so I'm used to airheads.
This is true actually but I use the word ditzy to describe Paris Hilton. I think I'd probably describe 'ditzy'/intelligent people as cute.

I also like glasses... glasses are HOT.
My girl has glasses, shit is SO cash!
Of course glasses are hot, but we're getting off-topic. We were discussing intelligence and attractiveness, not looks and attractiveness. Unless you're discussing that old prejudice about people with glasses being smart. As if intelligence was harmful to your eyesight.
(I know I'm overreacting, :) I just had to say it.)
Well yeah I mentioned how I hated dumb people then proceeded to contribute a little more.
And if Pol Pot is anyone to go by then yes, glasses do mean you're intelligent :p
And if Bin Laden is anything to go by then yes, having a unibrow makes you a terrorist.
Never trust a man with a uni-brow... or a woman for that matter.

huh. me and a friend were taking a psychology exam this morning. After we finished we got talking about how Erik Eriksons stages are rather bland and unhelpful. Two minutes into the conversation We had somehow started talking about whether hitting your child with your dick qualifys as sexual abuse, or just normal assualt. I think i' going to need someone who can handle conversations like that.

I wouldn't say it's necessary, as that'd make me a prick, but it's definately a bonus. A huge bonus.

I... um... that's a strange line of conversation, even to someone like me who can conduct an entire conversation with noises amounting to "hur dur" and "muhhh".

I like Erikson's theory though... maybe just because it's not Freud, but I dunno, it makes sense to me.

I consider myself fairly intelligent, but I don't really sit around and talk about science or novelists or I guess anything you really consider "intellectual" topics with friends or love interests, it's more for my own enjoyment. I don't really get people who get angry over people who are good looking but simple minded, seems like an insecurity issue to me.

I have to say intelligence is a big deciding factor. Not necessarily IQ wise. Jessica Simpson / Paris Hilton is not my idea of an attractive women. It basically comes down to can we have a conversation or debate over something and feel like we both have learned and taken a new perspective away from the conversation. I don't want someone that will always agree with me I want someone who has opinions and is not afraid to express them. Hopefully a girl that shares some but not all of the same interests as me so that not only can we talk and debate about our interests but teach each other new information/interests.
I know I ask for a lot but that is a sexy women in my mind.

Eventually that amazingly hot airhead you're dating is going to turn into an ugly old airhead. Then what? :p Long-term relationships really NEED intelligence and common ground.

Needed. At least the bit of intellect to know her own lack thereof. I could never ever be truly attracted to someone stupid who would think her idiocy is preferable.

I dont demand a girl be a genius, but there has to be something going on in her head, or its just a waste of a hot girl. Would I have a one night stand with a hot but dumb girl? Of Course. But I could never be with someone I couldn't carry an intelligent converstation with.

I'd like an intelligent girl because, to quote Ron White

I didn't marry my wife for looks, and you shouldn't either. In a few years, if her boobs start to sag too much, there's a place you can go to and they'll lift 'em right back up to where they were. If she gets too fat and don't wanna work it off, you can get a tummy tuck. They'll give you a belly that looks like a cheerleader. If your eyesight starts to go bad, you can get Lasik surgery and they can give you 20/20 vision at any age. If your hearing starts to fail, they'll put a little device in your ear that makes you hear as good as when you were born. But let me tell you something folks- you can't fix stupid. There's not a pill you can take. There's not a class you can go to. Stupid is fo-evah.

I'd consider intelligence as a factor in personality. Which is to say, it doesn't matter how smart she is, it's what she does with it. Which is personality. But yes, personality trumps attractiveness completely.
