The first Terminator was a good horror movie.
The second was an awesome action movie.
The third was a bad remake of T2 with the characters a little older and a less happy ending.
The forth (Salvation) was definately better then the third, which I'm viewing more as the lowpoint in the series.
To be honest, they probably should have ended it after the second... but they didn't. As such, I'm going to make the best out of this bad situation and view them as a series of films in which one thing explains the circumstances of the other movies. After all, if John Connor never had a reason to send back his father and two Terminators, he would have been killed by Skynet, etc.
More likely than not, the next movie (which I hear is in pre-production) will revolve around how the hell they managed to send all of those guys back in time.
