Does anyone feel that "Terran, Zerg, Protoss" is irritatingly similar to "Humans, Aliens, Predators"? They're pretty much exactly the same, except in the latter triplet they're significantly more badass xD
I see them more like "Adeptus Astartes, Tyranids, Eldar" :p

Yes, it's well established that the Zerg and Protoss were inspired by Aliens and Predators. The game characters even quote Aliens.
If you ever watched the pros play, though, you'd think twice about calling the movie counterparts more badass. As good as, well, some of those movies are, watching Boxer, Flash, Jaedong, Idra, etc is infinitely more inspiring.

I enjoy Zerg the most, but I play my best as Terran. It's a cruel existence I live.

Was Protoss in SC1 however. Funny how that turned out.

I like the Protoss.

Terran I just find generic, Zerg are interesing, but the coolness of the Protoss just kicks the crap outta them for me. In both SC1 and SC2, guess I'm a puritan. :p

I miss dragoons, though. Stalkers seem to die just too quickly for me, although I gotta say I play for long games, which makes me a noob in most hardcore Starcrafter's eyes. I like building up huge armies and clashing with 'em, not going as quick as I possibly can and rushing through everything.

Oh, and I miss Corsairs. The web was kinda useful, but really it's just for the pilots voice and lines... so hardcore.

It is a good day to die..

I'm going to ignore OP and refer to the StarCraft race i LIKE most.

So, Zerg. They're about the only fleshed out "swarm" race i've experienced. In other words, unlike the usual video game hive mind races like Zombies, or the Flood, or Russians (I mean specifically in video games!.....don't sic a bear on me please!) the Zerg actually have a coherent goal, and purpose and a pretty interesting story, so that.

The Protoss have their sausage heads stuck up their ass. The Terrans are a semi-cool concept (Wandering convicts who strip-mine planets to oblivion) but the execution fails to deliver beyond "Texans in space on steroids"

I prefer the Terrans because I enjoy having multiple bases and they just seem like the easiest to do that with.
With the Zerg, though, it feels like one interconnected base.
OT: Zerg. Love the rushes, love the roaches, love the infestations.
Eh, but the problem is you can't build anywhere with the Zerg, or the Protoss.
You need a creep or those pylons.

With the Terrans you can build part of a base or one building or just random shit to screw with your opponents.
:D
You can build a hatchery anywhere, which spread creep. It's also the easiest to do expo with zerg since their main build is to fast expo.

OT: Totally zerg, haven't played anything else since the game came out.

The general idea about terran is that it's supposed to be easy to pick up and play as them, not punishing you for picking the wrong unit composition at the wrong time, having pretty durable and powerful units overall, like the Marine-Marauder-Medivac ball. To me, terran are a joke for people who don't want to lern2play, but instead just stick with one thing/unit/strategy and never be punished for playing badly, and never learning from the process. Terran played even half-decently is ridiculously overpowered.

Protoss played decently/good however is nearly unstoppable. Massed Blink-Stalkers, no Sentries or Colossi? Or going 3-4 fast Voidrays or build nothing but Voidrays the entire game, how many times have you faced this? How many times have you faced a Protoss going for this, and you lost, horribly? To me, having a unit that is virtually unstoppable en-masse, is just ridiculous.

An average good zerg player needs to be doubly as good as his/her opponent to hope to match them in battle. Double income, double the amount of bases, double the APM, and often the utter perfection of unit composition. That, or just overcommit to a rush and fail horribly, ragequit at Reaper/Banshee harass, get owned by 8+ early Voidrays, or being utterly demolished by 16+ two base fast expand Mutalisks.

Great fun.

Atleast the Swarm is getting it's own game soon!
Oh and I play zerg.

Protoss... I think the easiest to Macro. Very cool units as well, and I'm just not as good as the other races, though I'm sure I would be with practice.

I'm playing Random, but I'm best with Terran. The diversity of their units combined with the fact that there is always one to fit your needs makes it a really enjoyable race for me. There are so many openings - you can start with double-rax, or go 1/1/1, or perhaps rely on your teammates while hurrying into Banshee-cheese. Terran's static defense is the best out of the game - one missile turret with the range upgrade can take out 4 mutalisks by itself, and walling with depots is a real life saver against Zerg.

Also, Siege Tanks. Not even the counters to Siege tanks get close when you got about 20 of them blasting away. I play teamgames mostly, and I adviced my teammates never ever to run into a siege tank wall if it could be avoided.

Next to Terran, I'm best with Toss. Although it usually degrades in Stalker spam, they're quite easy to use. Observers are also game changers. I've yet to learn how to properly use things like Sentries, but I'm really fond of High Templars and I've seen my allies making good use out of the Phoenix' awesome Gravitron ability.

I hate playing as Zerg. I'm usually out of overlord , and when I'm not supplycapped, I'm out of larva. The lack of any good early unit is also quite annoying - I can make Zerglings and maybe Roaches and Banelings, but for them to be any good you _need_ the speed upgrade, which is a tier 2 thing.
