Just post it...

Mine is technically both since I was playing "4 Resident Evils" & I was young so everything that was slightly scary was quite more than it actually was... anyway I was grabbed from behind shit my pants got away then, BOOOOOOOM!!!!! MY TV LITERALLY BLEW UP (not shattering glass boom but internal parts) making the TV do The Ring style static & I could no longer move because my jeans turned into pooy M C Hammer pants & the lights were off AND no one else was home.
EDIT: Trying to change the poll to: You ever think something from the game will come out & kill you?

Okay first off... ew...
And uh, yes once. I was playing Silent Hill 2. It wasn't that scary, but scary enough to make me a little jumpy.

Then out of nowhere... BAM! a crow flies into my bedroom window that I was leaning on...

I literally wet myself and I haven't sat near that window since. (This was about 2 weeks ago)

I pay lots of attention when walking in stairwells after playing SWAT4.

Also, "Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines" has left me seeing if there is anyone around to notice me jumping on randoms and biting them.

Not really game related, but after reading World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide, whenever I was walking around in my house in the dark, I would be on full alert, somehow fearing that a zombie would come staggering into view...

Yeah. Something tells me that if I ever get the guts to play amnesia...I'll be sleeping with the lights on for a few days, even though I'm 23. I'm just a wuss like that.

After Playing L4D2 for several hours straight, my mind can't figure out reality n' fiction for several minutes, also due to being sleep deprived. Its really interesting, almost like a live dream... with consequences.

After playing Bioshock one evening, I went to bed, and then heard very bizarre noises coming from... somewhere above me. My half-asleep mind was convinced that there were spider splicers on my ceiling. Mind, in hindsight, I figured that it was just my very strange upstairs neighbors, as this was in a college dorm, but... it was freaky as hell that night.

Agree with Java here that the poll and thread title seem unconnected, anyways.

In response to POLL, I have had a game stick with me once, stayed the night playing Halo at a friend's house, got about ten minutes of sleep the entire night and was seeing red and blue spartans in the corner of my eyes pretty regularly for most of the following day.

As for the TITLE's question, I was playing Streets of Rage 2 once and was really getting into the game at the time. Hit some bad luck and lost my final life, game over pops on the screen, music plays, and right when the final note ends... Power goes out, I just stared at the screen for a moment, said "Well, that's ominous." And another second later, the first gust of one of the strongest wind storms that particular area's ever had, carrying a bunch of dust with it.

Essentially, 'you died, power died, now have some strong winds that brings a dusty apocalyptic weather with it.'

One time I played F.E.A.R. and the power had gone out, my door was open and no-one else was home; freaked me right out nevermind that this was at 2 in the morning and my house being slightly haunted started making noises (and by noises I mean ones that people make e.i. footsteps, etc.) and I could of swore I heard the T.V. in the other room turn on (remember power still out). I had nearly had a heart attack. Fianlly the power came on just in time for me to turn on the lights and seeing my bass guitar case I thought it was Alma and screamed "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!" After that I can't walk down a dark hallway with doors open (at night) without checking to see if it's clear and that a little girl in a red dress isn't watching me. Scariest f**king day of my life.

(still kinda waiting (in a twisted way) For someone to say pet died after playing farmville too much) Well, there was this one time when halo had first come out on xbox/pc ( I had pc) One night I decided lets put the headset on full volume and play in the dark at 12, its not scary. after going through the levels i stopped because I thought i heard my mother, eerie silence until a camouflaged elite with an energy sword appeared yelling : BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH . I almost fell off the chair. Then continued to the flood. >.>

I had been playing Amnesia for a few hours. I stopped playing and while I was eating my sister decided to jump out and scare me (it's just something she does, she hadn't know I had been playing the game). I sprinted out of the room slamming doors behind me like an Idiot.

Oh don't we all. If I had 3 wishes one would be the ability to stab people in the face through broadband.

The closest thing I can equate this to was when I was seven years old and got an NES with the Legend of Zelda for my birthday. I played that game for hours... then when I went to bed, I could have sworn there was an octorock (not that I knew what it was called at the time) in my open closet. I wound up whacking my cub scout uniform top (which was draped over a chair in front of the closet) with a walking stick when I went to investigate... I wouldn't say I was scared. I was a rather bold child.

I have a really bad habit of jumping out of my skin if someone detects me while I'm stealthing in any game.

I must really get into it lol. I should try playing something other than a rogue somtime xD
