Wow. It amazes me how people say no to alternatives, when infact you loose nothing even if you don't like the mode since its OPTIONAL!
It amazes me how people can make a thread asking whether someone would like to see an optional feature and then pull out an argument of "why wouldn't it be in if it's optional" :)

And yes, I would like to see it in. If it was Oblivion, I'd say no cause Cyrrodill was a lush green land. However, Skyrim being a frozen wasteland for a large part, it could make sense. Really depends on what the landscape is like though. The reason it made sense in Fallout is not because "oh, cool, RP, you gotta drink/eat", it made sense because you had to survive in a scorched wasteland. Putting a mechanic in just because it's realistic sucks (GTA 4 oughtta have taught us that), putting a realistic mechanic in when it makes sense and is appropriate is fantastic.
Wait, what? GTA4 was probably my favorite of the series....

You can't really answer "no" to something optional. A better question would be "Would you use the hardcore mode if it was in?" or "Would you be ok with the game being delayed one week for hardcore mode?"

YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!

I utterly adored the hardcore mode in new vegas. Made the whole atmosphere better, like you were actually a part of a post apocoplytic society.

Drinking from some mountain spring and roasting some boar meat so you dont starve and die of thirst in skyrim would just feel great.

It just adds immersion and extra challenge.

I doubt Bethesda will do it though, unless I have missed some info. Even with more emphasis on detail in skyrim, I still always feel bethesda go more for wanderlust than minor details like that. Still, Ill hope. Doesnt seem to be much point of having a crafting skill for cookery if all you do is eat for health increase or sell it.

Of course I would like it in there, you always have the option to toggle hardcore mode on and off, so another addition to the game wouldnt hurt
Even though if it isnt in there, i'm sure someone will make a mod that added some sort of harcore mode in it (Elder Scrolls and Fallout games really ARE better on PC thanks to mods)
