Happened to me today like it happens to every WoW player who raids with folks not in their guild: while waiting for a tank to come back from a bio break, a player decided it would be great to pull the boss and cause a wipe. No one was sure at first what happened, but the problem became apparent when it happened again as we were trying to regroup. It resulted in a raid collapse, loosing the hour + it took to put the raid together(a 25 man), and a lot of players wound up getting locked to the raid where the only the 1st boss was cleared (not ideal for most)

Now obviously is best to put the player on ignore, but I felt a little more vindictive than that. I contacted that guy's guild leader and gave him a heads-up on that members activity.

So, for those of you who have been wronged in game whether by someone destroying your raid, or having a master looter ninja your loot, have do deal with it?

Would you:

Shrug and walk away: its just a game anyways

Contact the Guild Leader: someone has to reign this jerk in

Go on the global chat and pour on the hate: troll it up!

or some other means of reprisal: suggestion box here :)

I'm usually paying attention. And generally they get kicked after the first time.

Past that I don't care.

If they're being an ass and failing, I'll probably rage at them. If they don't seem to understand what's going on, I'll try and explain it to them but if they still fail then they'll get the boot.

That said I'm rarely party leader.

This is why I only like to play online games where you can kill other players, anywhere, anytime.

I would probably get really annoyed, complain to people, then do nothing and let others take care of it.

As a long-time Officer and Priest ClassLeader in a 50 account guild, I feel that the best way to handle situations like this is to report it to his guild authorities; not so much because he should be punished as because his guild shouldn't be.

When you lend your name to an idiot, it will eventually reflect unto the guild as a whole, and no respectable guild deserves that stigma.

The breaking up of a raid group can sometimes be preempted, though.

I often find myself in situations where one or two people get impatient, and start yappin' off in /Say.

I find the best way to deal with people like these is to quietly whisper them, asking them to take their complaints to the Leader directly, as there is no need to instigate any further distress among the other members.

Usually people will listen to reason, given that you present it in a delicate and understanding manner.

Eventually you may have to kick someone, though. Just make sure you make a clear post as to why a player got shafted mid-raid, otherwise people might start asking questions, and, in my own experience, questions are always neutral or negative.

Remember to state any rules for the raid before you start; such as how loot will be handled etc. This also applies the other way around. Never join a raid without having a clear statement of the loot rules in your chatlog, spoken by the Raid Leader or the Master Looter.

Without such a post the GM team can't help you out in a Ninja situation.

I'll be happy to give further advise on anything else related to WoW raid organizing, but for now I feel I've said enough :)

Kick him and 24 man it? If you play well you don't really need a full team. It's what my guild would have done if we were all ready and someone brought in a noob recruit, back when I played. No time for noobs and their wipes when you only have 4 hours of raiding. If he was being an ass about it, report him to his guild.

Oh and don't PUG. It's so very rarely a pleasant experience.

"while waiting for a tank to come back from a bio break, a player decided it would be great to pull the boss and cause a wipe" I don't play WOW can I get a translation.
"Tank" = A player with very high survivability. Able to take lots of damage due to having a lot of armour or a lot of HP, or both.

"BIO-break" = Bathroom break. You know, to go to the bathroom.

"to Pull" = To aggrovate, engage in combat, attack, and in this case, to make sure he killed everyone!

"the Boss" = A special enemy (monster) that can kill everyone in the party/group with ease if they are unprepared and not working together properly.

"Wipe" = The total annihilation of the player party/group. Everyone dies.

I do speak revenge though, and I say... BURY HIM!

As a healer I get noobs like this all the time. I stop healing them & then tell them that they're shit when they ask why they got no healz. Half the time it is because they cannot hold their DPS until the tank has picked up the boss, the other times it is 'cause they were hurrendosly sexist. I've noticed outta all the "girl gamers" who play WoW most of us are healers so its a bad idea to make a sandwich joke : ]

It's just a game. I can't stand people who get wound up by "drama" over video games.

Haven't played WoW since before first expansion pack, so it's been a while (jumped ship when there was a run where all the high-end content/progression was aimed at raiding playstyles and I felt like I was subsidising someone elses' game). But why couldn't you just let the douche take the aggro and kill himself? I remember some fool doing that around 5 times over on (forget it's name - the first instace where you encounter a deathknight and his queen). We were doing it for the ultra-challenge, where you have to complete it within a fixed time. The time limit isn't that tough so long as you don't wipe. Basically prepare as normal, but just don't screw around.

Anyway, this guy with us (one of only a couple who hadn't yet done that speed-quest, was being annoying from the very start, yelling GO GO GO!!! while the leader was trying to explain tactics and so forth. Then, he takes it upon himself to pull the next boss (forget what class, but he certainly wasn't a tank. Rest of us back up a bit. Point at him. Laugh hysterically. 'Alright, anyone got any ADHD symptoms they feel they need to declare?'

Then, as soon as the guy res's, he does it AGAIN! I seriously wonder whether he realised that it is only HIS gear that takes damage from him dying.

We gave up on the speed run, as most of us had already done it. Just easily 4-manned the rest of the instance:)

I'm not sure that you translated that last sentence quite right. I think it's supposed to read 'Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.

Inform his guild leader (if the guild has a good reputation)

And if it was really really bad, warn trade chat 'nicely' of his malicious deed.

Bascially make sure he can't ever get a raid again if you're feeling THAT sore about it.

The worst I've done is gotten someone kicked from a guild for misrepresenting the guild in question poorly. It was sweet justice to be truthful.
