Also, why does everyone keep chucking that annoying phrase "PC is going too far" around?

Seriously, stop it. God damn it, it's not "PC", it's just people going out of their way to be offended or... ATTENTION WHORES AND IDIOTS!
The entire point of political correctness is to never get off the issue and to stress the differences in people to the point of breaking.

Which to me would fall under attention whoring and idiocy.

So they are one in the same aren't they?

The only problem I have with Racism is anytime I say I don't see it people respond with "That is because you are white."

Which makes me chuckle and nobody ever seems to get the humor in that response to me.

i think it,s racist if you think this is racist.

explanation:when i watch this i see 6 guys having major fun.
when a racist looks at this they see 6 guys making fun of black guys.

no fiber of my body thinks it,s slightly racist.

p.s. aren,t we all a bunch of buffoons?
when a normal person watches it they see five very brave and slightly retarded white guys who are overly fond of make up. besides, they're nowhere near as bad as Disney....

Well, it'd be nice if people just used those terms instead of "PC", as it grates on my nerves.

Fair enough.

I tend to shiver when I hear PC as well. Mainly because it reminds me of how annoying politics can be when people let it run amok.

Few points, as one of the guys in the act pointed out, he was indian, and 4 of the other 5 guys were from multicultural backgrounds, not just '6 white guys'. This act was done 20 years ago to, and it didnt just not cause outrage, it won.

On the Australians are backwards about race points, we just dont care as much. Yes, we have our problems, and our bad eggs, but not like America, or really any nation can claim much difference. As someone pointed out, we are a nation of only 20 million, our dickheads stand out more. Back to the not caring as much thing, my group of friends is made of asians, indians, blacks and whites, and we give each other shit about it all the time. Most people i've met are like that, its just another thing to have fun with, like making fun of the fat guy, or the balding guy, we dont mean anything by it.

This whole thing is blown completely out of proportion. Its really a classic example of what the rest of the world sees from the American media, a bunch of overly self-righteous assholes, who are offended that someone else might find this offensive. American tv is some of the most 'offensive' stuff ive ever seen, and i doubt its ever caused quite this sort of commotion. I also doubt that anyone would have cared much if it had been mexicans, or asians being made fun of, but god forbid someone make a joke about blacks.

Eh I don't find it racist, though I wouldn't have allowed it due the the recent demise of MJ.

Goggle a picture of the Jackson five, they've all got fro's. It'd be like dressing up as Elvis without hair trademark hairstyle.

If they weren't black and wearing fros, then they wouldn't have been dressing up as the Jackson five.

Its a fair cop for them to apologise if someone finds it offensive. But I wouldn't be punishing them over it.

My family have been arguing over weather its racist or not for a few days now. I think its important to note that their not dressing up to offend, the fact that the Jackson five are black has nothing to do with it. Its more about their Dancing and music.

Ahhh Australia. I love this country. Not for that joke, that was just in bad taste. But the fact we take the shit out of each other all the time and we don't care. I have a friend with a freaky shaped head and he looks like a goblin and i give him shit all the time. Its great.

Being from Australia, I certainly know myself that I didn't know that the blackout face markings carried the racial connotations that they do for people from America. It doesn't surprise me and I can see why people were offended by it, but I didn't know myself hence I believe that others mightn't have know either. It seems to me that the skit itself was not in poor taste when they were only trying to re-inact what they very same people had done 20 or so years earlier, but it was a silly thing to do. It's the benefit of hindsight unfortunately. If they had their time again they definitely wouldn't have done it, but they had no malice or intent to harm in it. It mightn't excuse the action, but it does make it better than being ouright provocative.

its just a bunch of PC wankers screaming especially loud
something I'd have to agree with.
PC is getting seriously out of hand now. it's gone over the top, so much so...
that I don't even want to say what's happening where I live now.

It was a joke made in bad taste. end of story.
I agree.

If I went up to a priest and called him a prick, just because he's a priest, would that make me inciting religious hatred? No it would make me an asshole.

PC annoys me, it makes me want to kill them all.

It's called ENTERTAINMENT.

Bloody hell, soon enough the Media will dig up Al Jolson's grave and press charges, I swear to god. -_-
The trial would at least be more entertaining then the rest of the idiotic stuff the Media keeps giving us.
"Do you plead guilty?"
" "
"We don't have all day, Mr. Jolson."

What i don't get about this is why people are saying they are white when they are infact Sri Lankan. Absolutely loved the skit reminded me of my earlier childhood when Hey Hey was about to be cancelled.
