I see it has a different perspective.... me personnaly, im not a religious person (even tough i do not have anything against people beliving in something that doesnt exist, people need faith for theyre daily lives, and if religion provides that faith and strenght im all in favor for the concept), but i do belive that the bible is a book of good rules, a book for trying to make you become a good person, while using "fantasy" stories...

The 7 sins was a way to make people realize, of the illness of the human being, and how to avoid falling in these "illnesses".

But lets face it, well have sinned or going to. Its our nature. Sure we can make some aspects better, like anger control for example.

Now even tough i realized i wrote slot instead of sloth in the poll, i have to say that pride shouldnt be quite a sin. i mean if i had a son, i would be proud of him.... or proud from a work of art ive made.... why should that be a sin?

i guess theres a more bigger concept behind that sin...

First off. I LOVE that one choice was SLOT.

That is the awesomest name for a new sin ever. "I slotted it nice and slow."

-Whats your Deadly Sin; Envy

-Why do you think thats your sin; Because I'm generally envious when others do better than I.

-You can choose up to 3 sins. Other two are Avarice and Pride.

-SNIP-
The bigger concept applies to all of the sins.

Lust: It's a genetic imperative to reproduce, God should want us to be horny.
Sloth: Alright, no defense here, but everyone needs a rest sometimes.
Pride: I think Sloth can help us avoid too much Pride, because you sit back and just think for a bit and see the real goings-on. But Pride is also natural, it gives us a reason to protect what we are proud of.
Envy: Again, no real defense, but you can't really get far in life without wanting SOMETHING. If you want nothing, then you are as good as dead, and I don't think that "make everyone into empty shells because they want nothing" is on God's to-do list.
Wrath: No defense, won't try to justify, anger is bad. However, it is natural and cannot be be stopped.
Gluttony: Again, no defense, but at a certain level, you need to have want in excess to have the tools to survive. This is a not good one though.
Greed: Same concept as Gluttony, still not good.

This is all in my non-religious, non-religiously-informed, skewed vision of the world, but still...

Wrath - Experiences of true anger for me are quiet uncommon, but they are intense and need to be clamped down on because if I don't then I'm just dumping shit on myself in the form of consequences.
Sloth - I find it too easy to put things off and rationalize away the laziness.
Pride - Not something that occurs often. But when something I am proud of is insulted I tend to react...badly. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BerserkButton

My interpretation was that pride entailed boastfulness and arrogance, holding yourself to the standard of God.
Not just being proud of your work.

Or that you keep a load of lions in your basement.

I've touched in on all of them. I don't want any of them to feel left out!

Sloth is really the only one I indulge in on a regular basis.

Definitely Slot
This. I'm clean in all of the others (although I do overeat somewhat...) but I'm so addicted to the one-armed bandit.

In all serious, sloth.

Lust, Gluttony and Sloth.

Lust: I focus a lot on sex and tend to spend a little to much time thinking about it.

Gluttony: Food is my weakness...I use it as a crutch and I love it.

Sloth: Oh im a lazy lazy person...

I said Lust, but I realized that's kind of wrong. The only one that really describes me is Sloth, and even that's not very accurate I don't think.

Btw, "Anger" isn't the proper term for it. The best terms are "rage" and "wrath," with anger as being seen by both religious and psychological experts as being the good form and mirror opposite of the later two.

I wonder how many people will be actually saying they are lazy and how many couldn't pass up the typo. (I couldn't pass up the typo).

The only one that doesn't fit me is wrath

Breakdown
Lust: Yes, I'm horny a lot
Pride: Yes, I do feel that I'm better than a lot of people
Envy: Yes, there's so many things that I want. My brother's Android phone is one.
Gluttony: Yes, Food is good
Wrath: Nope, I'm very calm. I mean I have the capacity to get angry, it just takes a lot to bring me to that level
Sloth: Yes, like most others here I sit around playing video games or just doing things on the computer

Since I'm not all I'll chose sloth since that's probably the one I indulge in the most.

BTW: I find it humorous that "sloth" was misspelled in the poll. Too lazy to add in that "h" eh?

Sloth I'm sorry, Slot, by far. I'm not greedy, I'm not vain, I don't have too much pride, I never get angry at people or things, just a bit frustrated, Lust is human nature and I don't feel too much of it, and my budget makes gluttony impossible, not that I would do that anyway. The other closest is Envy, but not to much of a degree.

Anger all the way, I'm a fairly nice guy, but bashing somebodies face in just seems like the best thing to do in certain situations
