i'm a strong believer that we cant be the only intelligent life form in a galaxy consisting of billions of seperate solar systems. I think this race who we dont know yet, will try and wipe us out before we develop any proper-space travelling technology.

While anyone who's not an ignorant bastard will agree that there is other intelligent life in this galaxy, the chances of them reaching us are slim to none. Unless they develop some sort of technology to travel faster than light (which is impossible, as far as we know) or instant transmission across the emptiness of space, we'll have to settle with our own company for a very, very long time (around 5 billion years, when the sun expands).

Well the evolution thing has happend before. There was an age of the first land mammals, then they suddenly wiped out and then the dinosaurs came, then they wiped out. So then Giant mammals return, then the Age of the Giant mammals is gone now we are where we are today. So you never know.

Either that or the Earth is flung to the far reaches of space after the milky way collides with andromeda, which is also going to happen.

well, I'd LIKE to think that our species reaches the end of its lifespan many years from now and calmly accepts its fate and dies away peacefully...

Anyway, everyone knows that humans will begin to conform to an existential nihilistic outlook on life and everyone will grow in to a big cuddly, cosy ball of apathy. The world will breathe a sigh of relief and we will sink slowly into the earth to be eaten by the green creatures we call trees that roam the earth.

And then something much, much worse will be born into existence, and the world will kick itself for thinking it didn't have it good. That's right, I'm talking intelligent and destructive earwigs on the loose tearing up the place without a care for anything.
