Nuclear war, because we really are that stupid. I'm curious, as to how exactly 'The Earth's centre implodes' will happen? It sounds like some terrible 'evil plan' some James Bond villainesque character would do, and fail at. Or is this actually possible and I've never heard of it before.
I'd say an Asteroid is a potential candidate too, but I'd hope we'd notice an Asteroid big enough to destroy the Earth, with another time to do something about it.

i'm a strong believer that we cant be the only intelligent life form in a galaxy consisting of billions of seperate solar systems. I think this race who we dont know yet, will try and wipe us out before we develop any proper-space travelling technology.

While anyone who's not an ignorant bastard will agree that there is other intelligent life in this galaxy, the chances of them reaching us are slim to none. Unless they develop some sort of technology to travel faster than light (which is impossible, as far as we know) or instant transmission across the emptiness of space, we'll have to settle with our own company for a very, very long time (around 5 billion years, when the sun expands).

It's true. Aside from the intelligent life thing, i'm a pessimist, so i think that despite the fact that the universe is impossibly vast that in fact, we ARE alone. We cannot travel faster then light, so we WILL NOT leave the solar system. There ARE NO aliens in the universe, just the hideous gaping void of space, and a GIANT BALL OF EXPLODING GAS a few miles away. It's going to kill us, and there's nothing we can do about it.

The former is plausible to happen, though i prey we have enough common sence, and the latter will fucking happen at some point every 100 years.

I dont consider a plague to be the apocolapse, rather a culling, humanity will survive in some form.

I'm pretty sure we'll have mastered interstellar colonisation by the time the sun dies. The sun isn't going to kill us.

Well, considering the sun still has a couple billion years left in it, it's unlikely we'll still be around by then. And if we are, it's probably not going to be in any recognizable form.

By the way, does Cthulhu count as 'creatures from the centre of Earth'?

I'm pretty sure the Apocalypse will happen when the internet collapses under the weight of threads that have been done to death. Then somehow we'll all explode, then the earth will turn into a giant mushroom and be eaten by an intergalactic plumber.

Sun exploding. Not gonna happen for a few billion years, but it will happen. Eventually.

If we're talking realistically, I think this is what will happen. An asteroid could hit Earth, I admit, but if Deep Impact and Armageddon have taught us anything, we have the capacity to deal with them. By the time the sun explodes, I'd like to think we'll have colonised other planets anyway, so I don't think we'll have too much trouble. If not, then that's our punishment for not taking the time to find other habitable planets. I'll be too dead to care whatever happens.

I look forward to the day we get attacked by a technologically-advanced alien race. That way, with any luck, we'll stop killing each other for a bit and focus on them instead.
