Never told it, but I always enjoy a good rendition of it. It is intended to be the most offensive joke ever by way of describing the most horrific acts humans can do to each other with each rendition suppose to be more horrific than the last. Its called 'The Aristocrats' as an aristocrat is suppose to be someone of distinguishably and honor, an upper class if you will, and its a mockery of them by like describing things they don't do ironically(or maybe its a perception of how they might act, with their head up their ass so to speak). Its not funny because that's the punchline, its funny because its horrific and intended to be mocking of someone 'higher up'.

Youtube it, and find a comedian telling it, you might not see the humour in it, but if its told right you WILL laugh.

I think more people need to see the movie. Its hard to just hear or explain. Maybe I just have weird taste in comedy.

You've honestly gotta see it live in order to enjoy it. I had a friend tell it to me. He dragged the story on and on, going over every single disgusting thing he could come up with, and when he delivered the punchline he threw his arms to the side. In that instant I discovered the humor that lies in the joke.

You can't just read it online and then say you didn't like it, it's like reading the script to an action movie. You gotta see it. I've told it a few times, the last time the audience wasn't too receptive, though.

I heard it via Gilbert Gottfried. Didn't find it funny at all really, just kind of "meh". I only clicked on this thread because I thought it was about The Aristocats.

...the one about the cow is dirtier...

But no, I haven't told the Aristocrats. I've heard it told, but it's lost its bite in recent decades.

I've never heard about it so, naturally, I haven't told it.

Edit: I've read it, and I don't get it. At all. What is a debonaire?

Edit: So it seems "deboanaire" is synonymous with "aristocrat". Now will someone please tell me where the funnies are?
Because it's an incredibly dirty low brow act and you're giving it a fancy name.

Although really the humor comes from the shocking acts you talk about before the punch line.
That isn't really funny though.

As for the humor coming from just listing a lot of taboos. It might have been if it was shocking to the listener. As it was, I was not impressed.

a lot of it is in the way you describe the things happening in the act, if you just list a bunch of disgusting shit like i did up there its not so great and like you say its only funny if its shocking to the audience. the whole point is that its a display of showmanship so if you're just not good at telling jokes its not gonna work.

the joke at the end with name of the act is funny because its not funny, like i said its a shaggy dog story [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaggy_dog_story], you draw it out as long as possible and the punchline is deliberately weak.

anyway at the end of the day humor is subjective, if you don't find it funny explaining it wont help.

If anything, I found the south park version funny, because Cartman is laughing at the end, and Kyle just goes "I don't get it", and Cartman just "Me neither".

Gah, I'm not very coherent or whatever today. I'm tired and I need to be studying for my math mock-exam.

I've told it a couple of times at parties when everyones had a few, and seen a few comedians tell it, and it's certainly a mixed bag depending on your audiences level of intelligence/attention span/etc.

Sometimes it'll go down like a storm, other times it'll just be a bit of an awkward silence..
Plus, once you're heard it once, it'll never have that same fresh impact..

My version involves...
a gunshot and fucking the bullet hole. And a C4 dildo getting detonated.

I like the Aristocrats joke. Especially when told around stuck-up, stuffy business majors.
