Forgive me but I can't help but wonder what the faults were with the FPSs released this year. The FPSs released were quite diverse in setting, story and gameplay so I'd imagine at least one of them would be up in your alley.TakeshiLive said:For me, 2012 wasn't a brilliant year for FPSs... It's not a sad year, just a year when a Couter Strike came out.TheKasp said:Small changes are there, most in terms of balance but yeah, reasonable argument to not put it there. Still a sad year for a gamer like me when CS:GO takes the cake of released FPS...
While I don't regret getting it shortly after it was released, I was disappointed when I discovered that in the same day I began playing, I was already at the end of the story.TheKasp said:I got lucky to get Darkness 2 for ~18? with shipping costs. For that price I found the price more than just reasonable since it is for a long time one of the storydriven FPS that uses the perspective to its advantage (like when you wake up in the asylum).shrekfan246 said:Honestly though, I'd probably choose either Halo 4 or The Darkness II. And the only reason I'm not really going to recommend The Darkness II in this instance is because the campaign can be cleared in six hours. While it's a damn fine campaign and there are extra things to do along-side it, it's still a bit lackluster overall.
But yeah, I still just could recommend it for the price to people who love FPS.
I think I'm just a bit weary of the FPS genre a bit, it was all I used to play. Far Cry 3 on the other hand, now that I think about it, could change that opinion completely but it wasn't one of the Christmas releases I picked up.Nouw said:Max Payne 3 is a sad game for being excluded. Anyway. I've only played two FPSs released this year and those are Halo 4 and The Darkness 2. Halo 4 wins for replayability and soundtrack but The Darkness 2 wins for characters, setting, story and gameplay.
