They have a point, like many already said in here, a low level character wont help anyone in the higher dificulties. They are just looking for a quick level up and nothing more, send them back to Bronze until they are able to actually help the other players.

I am shocked, shocked, to see that a Bioware game has a shitty online community.
Wait there is such thing as a game that has a wonderful online community? I would be more shocked by that than anything else.
Haha true - although this is a new low for multiplayer communities.

It is rife in Silver but I have seen it on Bronze. I've often wondered what level 18-20 people are doing on Bronze anyway. I haven't gone Gold despite having a level 18 Sentinel. The last couple of waves in Silver have been enough to push my skill level. The last thing i want to be is "that guy" who has to get revived every minute.
Same here. I just started feeling comfortable in Silver games and I have a Level 19 Infiltrator (when 2 Atlas' show up, I still feel a moment of panic). I wouldn't even think about trying a Gold game yet. I would definitely be "that guy."

The only time I will suggest a kick on a player is if everyone else is ready and they're holding everything up for 5 minutes or so. After that, sorry, we've got a game to play.

Anything below N7 Rating 30 gets an autokick from me.

I don't care if tere is a N7 Rating 100 on a level 1 Soldier, as long as they have a rating that shows that they have played the game, I am happy.

I choose 'Other' in the poll.

I've been booted often - Runescape, Dragon Nest, COD, Halo, MOH - and over the years I went from "HOW CAN THEY DO THIS TO ME!!" to "Eh, ok. I'll look somewhere else." Granted it sucks big time to be rejected, but there is some good reasoning as explained by my friends in WoW and my short but amazing time in Utopia. Except for the time I was almost booted just because of my nickname some pansy could not stomach.

The first camp is simply a dislike for 'noobs' simply because they are lower leveled than you and you don't want to take care of them. Heck, these cannon fodder are for racking up PvP kills and showing them the ropes mean dropping them in the middle of the hardest dungeon ever and watch how long they survive. Sure, they were beginners too but not as dumb, whiny or talkative (I'm dying what should I do?) compared to these noobs. I'm told this camp belongs to the minority.

The second camp are the serious gamers who really need that extra help. Having a stranger join a party and turning out to be a liability can and will destroy the game play (Leeroy Jenkins!!). This is especially for competitive PvP where the stakes are high and the clan's name is at stake. Sure they'll hold the noobs hands, but only when they're bored, have already cleared the dungeon and don't mind helping out the noob who may be an experienced gamer just trolling for free handouts - those who create a second or so character but are too lazy to start completely from scratch.

Personally I do my best to help the noobs. It's next to impossible to tell who is a real FNG and who is just trolling for free stuff, but if I can help I usually do. I was once a FNG too.

I find that my opinion on the matter is similar to the majority here.

Bronze Difficulty: This is where people come to level a new class and farm money for better gear, Booting on this difficulty based on level is stupid. However, I also feel that Toons above level 14 shouldn't be used on this level unless your skill is low enough to warrant it, or you're farming credits for equipment upgrades.

Silver: At this rank, I tend to shy away from people using toons below level 12-14, and flat out refuse anything under level 6. However, if they've got a decent N7 rank, or are packing some seriously leveled gears and mods, then I green light them in my book. If however, they turn out to be more of a problem than they're worth I'll vote 'em out before next mission

Gold: This level is ridiculous for anything below 16 minimum, and even then one needs to come with their weapons at level 6 or higher and with full mods. At this level I ask players to switch to a stronger toon if they have one, or I screen every possible variable not tied directly to skill and squad compatibility.

Depends on the game difficulty. Bronze, I don't give a shit. Silver you had better have a decent amount of experience. Gold... you better know what the fuck is up. Kicking low level people in a high difficulty game is perfectly fine so long as you tell them why you are kicking them.

Stick to Bronze challenge stuff if you're lower level. These people are kicking you because they are probably playing more difficult stuff. At least that was my experience. Once I turned challenge mode from any to bronze only. I had no problems with this.

... So basically, this is a cover-up thread regarding minors should have the priviledge of visiting bars and drinking public at the age of 10? They should have the right to rush things through and be a pain for others to suck up?

Actually, it's probably not, but Silver and Gold are not scaled to be played by lvl 1-6 players exactly; you will need some levels to adjust your edge, or you won't be a great addition as another higher-leveled player would be. Bronze difficulty exists for a reason.

I can let it slide, SOMETIMES, on Silver, because the person might be a great spawn to get revival badges from, but it is a no-no on Gold, no exceptions whether or not what your N7 rank is (frankly, your overall level doesn't mean two shits; it only defines how much xp you've gained, not how much skills you have obtained)

I say this, but I honestly just love to support others with covering sniper-fire with my Infiltrator; act like a guardian angel and everything. If they fall down for being too weak, I'll rush to their rescue, despite their IQ and position. If they are low leveled, I may keep an eye open for them.

I've only done this twice. Once, because three of us were readied-up and the fourth seemed to be away from their controller, and the second time because one of my friends was supposed to join the match, only I forgot to set the match to private as opposed to public. Unfortunately, the second time was due to my own fault, and I am sorry for it. Still, I feel more comfortable playing a match with as many people as I can that I know. Better teamwork that way, and I'm sure we can agree, in Mass Effects multiplayer, teamwork truly is key.

*Sighs* reminds me of Rainbow Six Vegas 2's terrorist hunt;
If you aren't an officer - kicked
If you are an elite - kicked
If you are a high-rank officer - kicked
If you are Scottish joining an English hosted game - kicked (not always, but a good deal of the time)
If you teamkill - kicked (justifiable when its deliberate, but not when it was clearly and accident)
If you teamkill the host after he deliberately teamkills you - kicked
If the host dies in the first ten seconds, respawns and dies again, leaving you to do the rest of the map on your own - kicked
If you die permanently in a round - kicked
If the host doesn't realise how to set up a private match so keeps using public and you join - kicked
If you don't 'ready up' fast enough for the host's liking - kicked.
If you take too long to complete the map or die after the host has died - kicked
If you take cover somewhere the host wants to - kicked
If the host wants to let a friend in - kicked
If you use a weapon the host doesn't like - kicked
If you use explosives/a type of explosive the host doesn't like - kicked
If you wear the 'wrong' armour - kicked
If you talk in your mike, 'interrupting' the host's conversation (when no one was talking) - kicked
If you don't have a mike in - kicked
If the host can't understand your clearly spoken words - kicked
If the host just doesn't like you - kicked
If the host just 'feels like it' - kicked

Bottom line - hosts in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 were largely assholes. Obviously not quite the same, but I fear that this may be the result in ME3's co-op once it comes out.

I think several people that are contributing haven't played the Demo... Hmmm!

Anyhoo... I've never voted to kick someone. However, If you are waiting for a 4th in a Gold game & say a level 5 joins. I would get a bit miffed. I wouldn't kick them but I wouldn't expect any real positive contribution from them.

A level 5 character doesn't have the shields or health to be playing a Gold game. They become a complete liability & you spend most of the match picking them up.

If the player has dedicated all of their points to health & shields, fair enough. However, they still won't have the offensive abilities to be of any assistance. They won't be able to do any damage to the higher level enemies that you get from the start in Gold.

I also find it baffling when someone's rocking a level 16 Asari Adept in the lobby & then just before the game starts they change their mind & bust out their level 3 Krogan Soldier. I find those games rarely make it past wave 3 or 4.

Bronze & Silver I couldn't care less what level you are. Use these game types to level your low level characters. In Gold... I'd say you should have the decency to bring some fire power to the group.

Because 'ranks' in games have nothing to do with actual skill i think kicking them from the game is stupid. Grinding out ranks in games doesn't make you good, low level players can often be good, sometimes they just need to get themselves familiar with the game
Have you played the Mass Effect 3 Multi-player Demo?

In a bronze game it is completely unreasonable to kick a player because of their level as ti is designed to be played by any level character, for silver I would say that if a player has a low level character(1-6ish) and a low N7 rating (same or only slightly higher then the level of their character) kicking is understandable if the rest of your team is only about level 12 as then you aren't yet strong enough to carry a weaker player through the rounds and you could end up wasting medi gels. At Gold I would expect 18-20 characters anything lower then I would kick them as Gold requires people to be at the top of their game to win.

My very first round, I got booted from a bronze game. Bronze. I even heard the guy with a headset say, "Boot him, he'll just get killed." In every game I've played, I've either topped the chart, or come in a pretty damn close second. I don't care what you think about the new guy, at least give the player a chance before you kick them. And even then, only on silver or higher. It'll take, what, five minutes before you wipe because they're no good? And no one should be kept from enjoying a multiplayer game just because they're not skilled.

I will boot you if you are a level one N7 and class level on gold. You get a bunch of people who say "I rock at Mass effect so my level does not matter" And then they die on the first wave 5 times. Then I will kick you.

I don't care about your level if you can play decent I've seen some lower levels do good and some idiot higher levels who don't even go for objectives during the match. This game is best done as a team otherwise youd fail. Some low levels are better than higher levels especially the ones with higher N7 ranks.
