CODWA=Call Of Duty World At War
Patrick Buchanan was a third party candidate in the 2000 presidential election. Many old people in Florida voted for him by accident instead of Al Gore, due to confusing "Butterfly" Ballets

I'm not really interested in it (I can't get online, and I don't find most FPS games appealing anyway), but going by most reviews, I think High Voltage Software did a good job with it. Yes, it's not really innovative, and it would be forgettable and mediocre on any other console, but the fact that it's a fully functional shooter with good graphics on the Wii really shows that the system is capable of loads more than what is currently being put on it. I hope there's more games like this in the future for the Wii, and I really hope HVS's other titles (Gladiator A.D. and The Grinder) also turn out great.

That being said, I am not looking forward to these message boards on the day the Zero Punctuation review of it is posted.
Personally, I'm not looking forward to the internet when Chuck Norris dies of old age.
Don't worry, that's never gonna happen. Chuck Norris roundhouse-kicked the living crap out of old age when he challenged it to a match.

And that is different from any other FPS in the marketplace right now how exactly? Besides the eye of truth. From the reviews I have read they pretty much say the same thing. Good game but doesn't advance the genre. Like a game can't score high unless it innovates. Just forget how good it is on it's own and rate it purely on it's "new factor"

I'm neutral on the subject, but my friend has a few words to say, since a picture is worth a thousand words.

Okay, old, man, brown hair, tie, suit, white, eyes, ears, two ears, uh......spirals! Semi-smile? Cleft chin! white undershirt, big nose..........uh...........striped tie?

22 words, that's all I can think of...

OT: I have yet to play the Conduit, but from what I've heard if it was on ANY other console it would be considered generic and boring. To sort of quote Yahtzee, "Is anyone else concerned that the only reason it's a big deal is because it's on the bloody Wii?". From what I've heard also, it hasn't sold very well, which just goes to show how "hardcore" gamers are completely unreliable whiny bastards.........how depressing...

To date, The Conduit has sold about 160,000 copies, and it was just released in the PAL regions yesterday. Third-party games on a Nintendo console tend to sell slowly but steadily, eventually reaching large numbers. Just because it doesn't sell a million units within 24 hours doesn't mean it's doomed to obscurity.

I thought it was released a while ago? Either way, MadWorld, Okami, No More Heroes, and others sold piss poorly on the Wii even though it was what the "hardcore" gamers wanted.

Bleh, I hate irony, it depresses me...

one way to derail your own poll is to add an option that has nothing to do with the topic, lol.

But the conduit is ok, for a wii game. I mean, the wii seriously is not for me, and its sad to see them really try to make a good FPS for it, and failing.

Pat Buchanan. Ehhhh! The ballot was confusing!

I thought it was a fun game but nothing groundbreaking like it's claimed to be.

amazing level of customization in the controls that would shame any FPS.
Besides any FPS on a computer.

The Conduit is average. But it succeeds at what it was made to do: rip off Halo.

meh, i havent got to the multiplayer yet, and while it's no halo/killzone killer (obviously), it's still fun and looks alright
though at times, it's way too hard - and their definition of hard is pile on more and more enemies and the level design is horiible occasionally but again meh

it's fun and enjoyable
time to hype the grinder!

At least they copied the online component of a good game. I enjoyed The Conduit. The whole Wii friend system was a little confusing seeing as how I've never played a Wii game online, but thankfully you don't need friend codes to hop into a game. The graphics were lacking, but this is a Wii game. The single player wasn't anything to blow you away, but that's to be expected from games these days. 7/10 in my book. I'm just glad to see the Wii getting more games that aren't cute and cuddly.

It was released on June 23, which means it's only been out for two-and-a-half weeks now. To put that in perspective, MadWorld only sold about 65,000 units in its first thirty days.

And again, third-party Wii games sales are usually slow but steady. It's not like 360/PS3 games, where they sell a large amount on the first few days and then drop off significantly. It takes a while, but they eventually reach very profitable sales. It's also worth noting that games don't need to sell as many copies on the Wii as they have to on other systems to break even. To date, House of the Dead: Overkill, which received little advertising, has sold about 360,000 units, enough for Sega to consider M-rated ventures on the Wii to be profitable. No More Heroes is at the 400,000 mark, and apparently, that's more than enough for Grasshopper Studios to get to work on the sequel. MadWorld has sold about 250,000 units, but to be fair, it probably would've sold as much no matter what system it was on. Same with Okami; it didn't sell well on the PS2, so it wasn't too hard to see it not selling well on the Wii. Most sales figures also don't account for rentals, which is pretty high among most of the games I listed.

In short, yes, the sales of games like The Conduit and MadWorld seem small in comparison to games like WiiFit, but they do sell well eventually.

I'm glad that the Wii is trying to expand and from what I hear it has great controls which is a great first step, I mean it didn't look revolutionary or anything, but it still has merit and it accomplished what it set out to do in my opinion, which was come out with a good shooter for the Wii.

I liked it. It gave my wii some more playing time, and it is one of the few fps games on the wii, so I thought it wasn't bad.
Is it true that the controls were really good as well? I heard they were fully customisable, what every Wii (heck, console) game should have. If that's true, I hope that The Conduit is the start of a new trend. It would greatly improve Wii games.
Personally, I loved the controls.
What could you compare it to, Red Steel?
Try Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

That's because if there is nothing new, why buy it. If there are no new innovations, you might as well keep playing COD 5, there isn't really much of a difference in the multiplayer.
