I have a pc and an xbox 360 and they are both better than the ps3 in my opinion, however i would have to go with xbox 360 as most of the games i play and enjoy are on the 360

I mostly game on my PC now, I did used to play exclusively on my 360, but now I only play a few games on my 360 but I find it more convenient to play on my PC. However, out of all the consoles I prefer the 360, we also have a Wii, but it never gets used now, I'm tempted to sell it and put the money towards a PS3. But like you, OP, I just don't understand why some people can;t accept that different consoles have different strengths.

The only real reason I prefer PS3 is because I've been brought up my whole life with the Playstation series. I've grown accustomed and comfortable with them. I still enjoy the Xbox, but I'm not as used to the controls.

I occasionally dabble in PC gaming, if my computer can handle it. I feel FPSs are much easier to control with the mouse.

The only time I get annoyed at Xboxs or Xbox fans is when they deliberately put down the PS3. Then I feel I have to defend it somewhat, considering they are essentially almost the same thing. :D

The way I see it the ps3 360 and PC share most of the games that I would want to buy and I already have pc so...yeah
That said the Wii has more exclusive titles than the other two consoles so if I had to choose a console in my current situation then it would be the wii.
If I'm just choosing a single preferred platform to play games from then pc.

In my opinion consoles are more or less equal they each have benefits and downsides and that includes the wii. yet I sold my consoles due to them not being as good as my gaming rig the only problem I see with the pc is that more people play consoles so more games are available for them you rarely here the term "PC exclusive."

Actually, Sony had a motion controller for playstation 2, they just didnt have many games made for the motion controls.
If your talking about the Playstation Eye then that doesn't count lol. Since it is this generation of consoles.
The Eye Toy was originally put out for the PS2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EyeToy
im talking about the Zero G motion controller, you tilted it forward to move forward and back to move back, shake to jump, etc etc.
That's all well and good, but I went looking for it just now... To begin with it's a 3rd party controller, and it uses the motion control to mimic one of the analog sticks.

More importantly, as near as I can tell it was released in 2007 - which... Is after the Wii was launched...

Aside from which, motion controls predate all of that anyway.

Tilt based controllers for PC and various consoles have existed for a really long time, but they never worked very well.

For that matter, do you want to know what the Nintendo Powerglove actually was? (Never mind that it didn't work very well)

Even before that, there was a tilt based controller for the Atari 2600.

Controllers that somehow sense motion or tilt is nothing new.

Ones that use it as anything other than a way to mimic other control schemes on the other hand...

The thing is with the PC (and I hate to contribute to the Console War) is that it really is only the strongest platform for a few years at a time. When the new generations of Consoles come out every few years, the PC is generally plays catch up for a year or two. People tend to forget this when claiming the PC as the master platform.

Honestly, I never got it either. Each one certainly has it's pros and cons, but when you think about it, the PS3 and the Xbox are essentially the same thing.

Right down to the controller
True, but that's a design issue with the PC. On a raw level, I can't remember a time when the high-end PC hardware was weaker than console hardware except a long, long time ago when the PC's graphics hardware was absolutely horrible.

The reason it looks this way is because PC's never seem to be able to use their power effectively. (Probably because of the overhead caused by no two PC's having quite the same hardware; As great as directX is for developers, it, and things like it carry a huge overhead compared to programming the hardware directly.)

That being said, what you're saying is completely true in practice. But I would say that if you took the high end PC's from just about any console launch since about 1998, and were to program one the way consoles are programmed, even brand new consoles would still come out looking weak.

That's the price you pay for flexible hardware I guess.

Why wasn't the Wii included? Sales wise especially, the only thing beating it is it's love child, the DS, so it seems like you'd need a concious effort to ignore the thing.
Because sometimes, there are things that should just be ignored...
(I own a wii, and never play it because my ps3 and laptop have better games, although dokuban kingdom is a great time sink...)

As someone before me said, can't beat a wii/PC combo!

I'd like to say that while the Wii is a console and is not featured on this list, the PC is not a console and is featured on this list. Seems a bit odd.

Oh console wars? I normally judge consoles by the games they have so I don't have a strong alliance this year with all the multiplatform titl... excuse me OP is that English? I'm not a grammar expert, but damn that is terrible. Here's a list of things to Google while you learn English: punctuation, capitalization, homophones and spell check. At least learn the basics of each.

(Now I shall wait for someone to criticize my grammar.)
What's a titl?
That's the only thing I could find, good work!
Yes I know that's a spelling error and not a grammar error.

All consoles are brilliant, each for their exclusives and also for what they are themselves, none are better than others.

OT: The PC and PS3 has seemed the winning combo to me for quite a while now. I sold my 360 a couple of weeks back because the other two make it rather redundant.

I suppose its alright if you like Halo and GoW, but I don't, and that's all it seems to have going for it these days.

Fans have console wars because they are insecure about the fact that they were forced to buy only one thing and if they constantly overcompensate by touting it as the best then they think that maybe they can convince themselves that they were right. It's the almost the same thing with men and penis size.

I'm torn between my PS3 and my new laptop. I know that PC gaming is more advanced, the graphics are much better, and, once you get used to them, the controls are a lot more responsive.

But I still have a place in my heart for my PS3. Mostly for the exclusives: Uncharted, MGS, Ratchet and Clank, inFamous, and many more.

I own a PS3 a 360 and a gaming PC. There's also a Wii in my house somewhere. I wouldn't say either console (PS3/360) is better than the other. Both pale in comparison to the PC especially when playing a PC orientated game and not a shitty port, however this is just my opinion and personal preference. My gaming experience is much more enjoyable on the PC. Console wars are immature and degrading to the gaming community. It's high time we packed this in.
