I did throw a control once when I was pissed, but it was a gamecube controller so it was completely unharmed. Nintendo must have been planning for an apocalypse that generation because their stuff was indestructible. I've seen a GC tossed around and dragged behind a truck and then still play games.

All of my NES, N64, Wii, and Xbox360 controllers are working great still. Only my PS2 controllers are breaking down a bit, but that's because they're made of crap. The shoulder buttons on those are all screwed.
Weird... I broke my Gamecube just by sitting on it. And I am so underweight.
You must have nuclear gas because a Gamecube is nearly indestructible.

I'm a calm guy, and when I feel the slightest rage at a game, I wait a bit, if it persists, I'll turn it off.
Simples.

My first PS3 controller broke liek two days after I got it, no fault of me. I was just playing it and suddenly my characters started looking up, now it's stuck upwards even though the physical stick is in normal position. I've tried everything multiple times to no avail. To answer the question, no, I never throw my controller when I rage, I usually just scream, curse, and get angry. The very few times I throw my controller, it's not that hard.

Only once, but it was on purpose. I forget what had me pissed off enough that I felt the need to destroy something, but one of my N64 controllers was completely rooted and I had just bought another one anyway so... I took it down to the garage, swung it by the cord and smashed it into the concrete. It was very satisfying - until I realised I was barefoot, surrounded by broken fragments of plastic and that I needed to find and pick up all the little pieces before someone stood on them.

Yes to breaking them, but not through anger. I'm used to sturdier xbox controllers so using playstation controllers just seems to break them. I must twist them in some way

I've never broken any, but the left stick on my PS3 controller is a bit messed up and has a tendency to stick forward a bit. It's nothing too bad, but it can be annoying.

Devil may cry 3 heaven or hell mode.....lots of controllers
Is Heaven or Hell really all that hard? Everything dies in one hit, and only you have un-dodgeable projectiles. Easier than easy in my opinion.

I've never broken a controller. I've had to refrain from throwing controllers on many occasions but the cost of them is just too damn expensive to break over a video game.

I have totalled 5 controllers,
Crushed two twisted, pressed, walked on, gripped excessively in annoyance
playstation
Chipped one rough plastic exposed bin-time
playstation
one broke it's vibrate, then went all weird and stopped working slowly
probably some kind of electronics fail
that was a Logitech one
and worn out the triggers on another they click sideways and squeak instead of down and don't work about 50% of the time
usb xbox / pc pad

also plenty of mice, and two keyboards

i guess i'm too rough with my stuff, oh well i guess they all go to the great calculator graveyard in the sky :(

I threw a controller once, but it was onto a pillow, so it survived my short phase of anger. I've broken a remote once though. I got so pissed because a political TV interview that I grabbed my remote and twisted it really hard until it snapped in half (top and bottom), but I managed to tape it firmly together again, and it still works fine.
