Have you ever had that day where you just sucked ass at a game? Today, I was sucking at Racing games. I don't know why; maybe it was because I was playing them for too long, but I just was sucking at them.

Yeah, sometimes you just need to "turn it off and on again" and give a game a break for a while then come back to it refreshed. I used to get it fairly often when I was playing League of Legends a lot, it can be pretty frustrating. I permanently suck at racing games though.

Today as a matter of fact. I've been doing well in Halo 4's multiplayer over all. Well good for my meager skill set anyway. But my arm was sore today and it was all I could focus on. So I couldn't get anything going in BTB.

Shame really. I was so looking forward to unwinding with some Halo today. *sigh*

I have many of these days with online competitive shooters. I have my days where I kick all the asses and other days where I can't aim to save my life. Just goes to show how I can't rely on something like competitive gaming to feel good about myself.

No, not really. Sucking at games for me is an On/Off thing. It's not random, but in accordance to experience. I can't suddenly be bad at puzzles, pinball, shooting the hell out of things, sneaking around, etc. after being good. Doesn't work.

[HEADING=2]One game. ONE F#@%ING GAME.[/HEADING]

Mod Racers for the PSP.

I'm not sure if the game is inherently difficult or if I just suck at it in general, but I always thought that the first race should be a cake walk in order to get a feel for the controls and gameplay. In this game, you can easily lose in the first race if you don't finish in the top three. If you manage to practice and do ALL the racing moves in the race (drifting, using weapons, going off ramps, doing mid-air tricks, using boost, etc.) it's possible to finish in THIRD or SECOND. It should not be this difficult to finish in first on the first race.

This is literally one of the few games that I had to rage quit because I wasn't progressing or getting better and I didn't want to waste another second.

It happens when I play LoL, some days I just suck at it and do really stupid things while losing my lane. Also happens on other games but I notice it the most on LoL since I can get really critical of my performance and what I did wrong.

Of course, I think most people have days like these.
Where you just make the wrong decisions or can't perform as intended.

Those days I just give it a rest and do something else

Yeah, it happens to everyone I guess. I also have days where I'm awesome at games I usually suck at.

Now I played through Batman Arkham City on hard that first time without too much of a problem with it. I managed to get all the campaign medals and the challenge medals with some difficulty, then Games for Windows Live decided not to accept my save data and then all of a sudden I was struggling getting past the early parts of the game almost getting killed in the first fight. Now that might be because I was confident because of my upgrades on how much damage I could handle and having all the combo attacks, but that was frustrating as hell.

Also Mario Kart is the kind of game where everything seems to go against me at times.

Happens sometimes, especially when I pick up a game after a long time of not playing it.
Takes me a while to get back to my normal skill level.

Plenty of times during my time on different CoD games I could go 30-5 one day and 5-30 the next. No time in particular jumps out because I played so much, but I can remeber it wan't a good feeling.

I have the opposite experience with fighters.

My friends say that I'm not very good at playing them and that's probably true having trouble remembering the combination for a smooth combo or the longer ones for specials etc. but once in a while I have a day where I kick their asses so hard, that they make a sparkle in the sky like Team Rocket. It's funny because when it happens I win with anyone of them (there are five), so I suppose it's more like my lucky day than a coincidental bad day for five different people.

P.S. We usually play Tekken 5, Mortal Kombat 3/9 and Budokai 3

Yeah its usually racers for me too. Particulary the quicker ones such as burnout/ wipeout. Some days my reactions are just - off - :p I know its a lost cause, so i just turn it off.

I left Dark Souls alone for a while some time ago, and when I got back in I was tasked with getting on a moving platform in Blighttown. The first time I got on, as I was reaching the top, I disembarked, missed my stop and plummeted to my death (I was unhollowed so that's one humanity down the drain).
Then, as I hurried to my bloodstain, I missed a jump, fell down and was eaten by the local fauna.
This was around the time Skyrim came out and I was playing that constantly.
Let's just say that after that incident, I took a long hiatus from Dark Souls.

My absolute worst ever.

few years back when I was subsisting on Emulators and roms of SuperNES and SEGA genisis games, I gave one of the SNES bomberman games a whirl.

With my older brother semi-paying attention, playing a game himself while busting my balls, I was unable to make it past the first zone of the first world; or in bomberman speak, I used up all 3 lives in world 1-1

That was my worst game day EVER.

Anyone who says that they don't have days where they just outright suck at a game is lying. That or is clearly using something to cheat so that they can't lose.

I also think that this is fitting for this thread. "I came, I fraged, then I got fraged"
