Having only seen the new series, I'd have to go with the Tenth Doctor. I've loved the character ever since I first saw an advertisement for Blink on Sci-Fi a couple years ago. Hopefully the next Doctor is good enough for me to continue watching the show.

After having seen ALL the doctors in my time I'd have to go with Tenant, he seems like the doctor that has come to enjoy his job but he still has moments of soul tearing loneliness. I can connect with that.

As for Matt Smith I can't really judge yet but the series is in good hands with Moffat at the helm (in a recent Doctor Who Magazine Poll of all 200 Doctor Who stories Moffat's all placed in the top 25 with two in the top 10). Hopefully the 11th Doctor will be Fantastic, Brilliant, Molte Bene or whatever else fits the teeth.

David Tennant is the Doctor that I see predominantly on TV so I guess he gets my vote.

Well, my opinion might not mean much, since I have only seen the new series. So I only have two Doctors to chose from. And since my first doctor is the Ninth... I still have to say Tennant is the best one. But Eccleston was awesome. There was something special about the Ninth. His smile is the kind of smile that makes other people smile. Eh... yeah. I think that was right.
But Tennant just is The Doctor. And some of the best episodes of any series I have ever seen has been with the Tenth. Blink and Human Nature/Family of Blood comes to mind. God, those episodes are good.

Matt smith is going to suck, I actually prefer the older doctors 9 was pretty awesome 10/11 was hilarious but the older ones where far more dramatic

Now I've noticed that a lot of people on the escapist love Doctor Who or has heard of it) and I'm wondering which actor you think is best. I've only watched the last four seasons so I don't know much about the other doctors but personally David tennant is the best.

Tom Baker was my favourite, closely followed (even though chronologically preceded by) by Jon Pertwee. Jelly babies plus an awesome scarf = Win.
