I joined all of them, with the same character, at the same time, it was oddly satisfying. But I will shout this from the Rooftops, Dark Brotherhood has hands down the best plot line in the entire game. I actually teared up a bit when I had to carry out "The Cleansing" mission, I just wanted to shout, "No Lucian, fuck you I'm not doing that and I don't care if you send Sithis himself after me for it."
The Dark Brotherhood questline was the only part of the game that I wasn't completely infuriated by. Oh, and the thieves guild questline was alright.

Mainly because the wasn't much combat. Bethesda, stop trying to put combat in, you suck at it. At least in Morrowind it had the decency to stay in a corner most of the time and keep to itself.
Really? You must be playing a different game because the combat worked great when I played, infact I played Morrowind after Oblivion, and holy hell how can you say that Morrowind had a better combat system then Oblivion?

I didn't. I just said that it at least fucked off most of the time, and most wildlife reacted to being stabbed like wildlife would- by dying, instead of losing a tiny sliver of health.

Firstly, I think I've made it pretty clear how much I dislike this game, although I did finish it.

Now, my setup was just a human warrior. I think the first guild I joined was the Fighter's Guild, although the first thing I did was pursue the awful main quest.

Varies. Usually, I'll join Mages Guild first, but the first I'm likely to finish is, by far, the Arena. It's quick, efficient, gets you some start-up cash, you don't have to hike around the world just to actually join for real like with the Mages (admittedly, I LIKE the Mage Guild quests, but they can be time consuming if you go all at once. Much less so with the Arena).

Dark Brotherhood, oh boy, the Dark Brotherhood. They're usually the 3rd or so that I join, but the second I finish. They're just so much fun! Especially the mansion mission...Man, I've played that one so many times and enjoyed every second of it. The other family members are neat and there's a decent twist to it as well.

Fighters guild I never really got anywhere. Due to a glitch, it makes it effectively impossible to finish one of the early quests.

Thieves guild is pretty "meh" overall, except for the last mission. Of all the individual quests I've received in the game, none made me drop my jaw like that and say "I'm going to steal WHAT now?".

Like the majority, I was in the Dark Brotherhood. At least once. In a different round with a diff character I was in the Mages guild.

Me I played as a female wood elf.......yeah thats right Female what of it?

Anyway I specialised in alchemy and bow tactics.
It's always fun to watch a guy that could kill me with one blow of his weapon, fall to the ground like a ragdoll from one of my paralysis poisoned arrows.

I also joined the thieves guild once for the poops and giggles.
I never play the dark brotherhood guild......ever! I'm a thief and a sneak but I still have a heart of gold and a clear murder free conscience damn it!!

I later made some other characters (male one's).
