I'm going with 'Good.' Everything I've seen, both from the DLC in II and all the info on Inquisition, points to the Dragon Age team aiming not only to make sure they don't repeat the Mass Effect team's mistake, but also making sure they don't repeat the mistakes of Dragon Age II. I'm positive that the ending to Dragon Age: Inquisition will be good.

Well I just wanted to include all the potential options.

I'm hoping for good, but I'm still washing the taste of Casey Hudson's scrotum out of my mouth after getting teabagged by ME3's pre-release promises so hard.

Hoping for good. The multiple choice ending seems possible, but I doubt that's going to be the case. Odds are the story will be closer to Origins in how the endings are done.

I'm sure it'll be a normal ending. Obv they aren't going to have a ME3 type ending

You and your party walk through the dark gate into a parallel dimension, sword in hand, staff fully charged, bow drawn, health and mana full, ready to end all evil that has plagued the lands for so long. A long stairway stretches ahead of you, colored crimson with the blood of many innocents, contrasted by the darkness surrounding it. You warily traverse it, each step leading you closer and closer to the evil entity somberly awaiting your arrival. Finally you reach the end and the sky brightens into a blood red hue, illuminating a giant throne in the middle of a circular arena-like environment. The throne turns towards you with a grinding that shakes the whole area, you step closer to fully see the entity sitting on it, currently shroud in darkness. The entity finally reveals himself and...

It is the DLC salesman from Origins. Angered by the rejection he faced in the first game, he seeks revenge and fights you the only way he knows best, by asking for your credit card details and reminding you that you still haven't accepted that crappy puzzle game EA offered for free on Origin, you ungrateful savage.

At the end of the game you will meet the Maker who explains that he created the Darkspawn that try to destroy the world to prevent the races of Thedas from making Darkspawn that try to destroy the world. For reaching him the Maker gives you a choice between three options.

1. You can destroy all the Darkspawn but must sacrifice the Grew Wardens to do so and with the Darkspawn gone the races of Thedas will surely create Darkspawn in the future.

2. You can take the place of the Archdemon's and control the darkspawn.

3. You can somehow fuse the darkspawn and the other races with each other, presumely against their wills and create some kind of super species.

The first option will make the Maker create a red explosion, the second a blue one and the third a green explosion.

CMYK, four different endings? Now you are just being wildly optimistic, and foolish. Stop it.

Seriously tho, my bar of expectations is so low a snake couldn't limbo under it.

Given DA2/DAO...

You got your standard three choice option, offer your own life/other guy's life/third option that may fuck everyone over down the line.

Then you got the fates of everyone and subplot of the game. Some not going as well planned as you thought it would by playing jesus.

Of course we are the Escapists, it is our directive to be cynical unhappy gamers.

The true answer is....among the least interesting parts of the game.

Dragon Age Origins peaked at the landsmeet.
Dragon Age 2 peaked at the Arishok.

Don't get me wrong...Bioware is leagues ahead of Bethesda in terms of offering a satisfying main quest conclusion but that's not what people are buying this game for. At least, that's not what I'm buying the game for.

curious, what are you buying the game for?

(not trying to be sarcastic or a smartass, legit curious.)

What do you think it will be?
Would you mind putting the "...will be..." in the poll into the thread title? I worry that somebody will misunderstand and post ending spoilers in the thread. Thanks!

OT: I bet it'll involve Sandal and enchantments. That seems like a fair bet.

For the party interaction. Getting to know your party members and becoming attached to some of them has always been the most fun aspect of Bioware RPGs. If I look back at DA: Origins, I don't tend to think of it in terms of overcoming the Blight or facing off against a High Dragon. I look back and remember Alistar and Morrigan bickering, Shale hating on pigeons, and Sten constantly giving me a hard time through culture shock. If I look at DA2 or the Mass Effect series it's pretty much the same.

I'll be all about exploring the world and learning about my companions as I make decisions and complete side quests. I'm also all about the major decisions you make throughout these games. Who took the throne? Did you side with the Dalish? These are all parts of the main quest but for me tend to feel like more satisfying than slaying the big bad at the end.

Finally I'll be getting the game for the mechanics. I enjoy RPGS and I love the combat systems in the games. The world looks pretty and it should be fun to play.

If I devote 80 hours of joy to this game only to find that the last 3 hours are complete shit it simply wouldn't kill the experience for me. It didn't in Mass Effect 3...though it did impact my desire to replay the game as I still haven't gone back to see the new ending.

fair enough, I play for very similar reasons, however I do wish for a "fulfilling" ending here...and by that, I mean I would like most of, if not all, of the major plot points of the previous games to get some sort of closure. (what happened with morrigan? her baby? flemeth? hawke? hawke's companions? your warden? alistair? oghren? the architect?)

Now I know alot of those characters can die/not exist/aren't around for many reasons, however, by importing my save games, I would like SOME mention, as to what happened to them, what they may be doing, or why some of these powerful as fuck mofo's aren't kicking it up with me in the end of the trilogy.

I didn't read the dragon age books, so there is possibly a ton of lore I'm missing out on, but I don't think someone should have to rely on the books for some of the major characters, especially in regards to your warden, or hawke, or something of that sorts.

Why would I "come at you"....your enjoyment of the ending of ME3 has no relative bearing to my complete lack of enjoyment of them. They are subjective points of view and fighting over such things is the pursuit of unevolved primates.

You're welcome to like whatever you like, and I'm welcome to point out that the entire ending of ME3 was a lie going back months and months before the game was even released.

It should have 3 choices....blue...red...gr...

Oh wait didn't Bioware do that already with a perfectly good franchise? Hmmm...

Totally in your corner.

The ME3 endings sucked.

I know, DA:I ... We can have the Inquisitor get over the top powers and literately break open a fissure to hell that splits all of Thedas in half, making an ocean of bubbling lava gush out, melting structures, plant life, and vaporizing all whom were to slow to read the signs of the end.

Everyone dies --- even the Mubari hounds.

Then the credits roll to some third rate Indie band with a bad rhythm and displaced vocals.
