With the latest WoW patch, a LOT of things have been changed. Spells removed and added, talents changed, mechanics redesigned, but were all of these changes good?

Please, debate.

(personal opinion: revert changes and go back to Wotlk, it was flawed but better than what we got now)

People hate change, but they get over it. Hardly a game breaker. You know what would be? If they decided to force everyone back to level 1...

Actually, that probably wouldn't kill it either. How about making it so that the characters are actually naked when you take off your...

No that definitely won't kill it either... How about if they removed the boundaires between Alliance and hor... oh come on! I can't even see that bringing it down.

IT WILL END EVENTUALLY! PROBABLY WITH A SEQUEL!

Calumon: Just don't bring Jack back into it. He has too much work already!

I've played half an hour as my prot warrior, looked at new skills of my fire mage alt and decided I won't return until the expansion at least.

Meh, I like it. It's a change, and whilst I have no fucking clue what I'm doing on my Rogue any more, I'm happy levelling my Death Knight, plus they gave me an ability that turns my Ghoul into a fucking monstrosity; I like. People always whine about this kinda stuff, I personally don't know what the fuck is going on so I can't whine about shit, I just like being completely ignorant and laughing at the QQ.

I like the new graphics too, very pretty.

WoW? Dead?
They just hit 12 mil ACTIVE subscribers.

These changes aren't meant for wotlk, it's to prepare players for the next expansion and some more testing.

This again ?

No, Wow isn't dead
No, Wow isn't even close to dying
There is currently no WoW-killer, no other MMO even plays in the 3M+ subs

The MMO that'll kill WoW will probably be WoW2

Also, contrary to "popular" knowledge, the bulk of WoW subs are NOT you, the hardcore gamers, frequent raiders, loot-chasers.The bulk of the subs are very casual gamers who plays maybe 4 or 5 hours a week, perfectly content with whatever game changes Blizzard does.

The patch sucks. But they will most likely fix things. Most people will wait a couple months for the big patches and everything isnt crazy and classes are op to the greatest extent

Saying absolutely anything about WoW on these forums will always get you some kind of nuclear response one way or the other. Because the people who like WoW will happily defend the game and the people who hate WoW will happily bash it, whenever given the chance.

No, I don't think this is the end of warcraft. I hope to be still playing WoW in a few years time. And regardless of what you might read, I certainly don't think Cataclysm will suck.
I mean, come on. Werewolves.

However...

I booted up my shaman the instant I finished downloading and installing everything.

"Healing Wave
194 mana 40 yd range
3 sec cast

Heals a friendly target."

...what.
'Heals a friendly target'? What the fuck does that mean? How much does it heal the target for? Is it a strong heal? A weak heal? Somewhere in the middle?

I don't know what the hell was going through blizzard's head when they decided to take away an important piece of fucking information from me, who needs to know how much his goddamn heal is going to heal the target for.

Maybe I'm just overreacting - maybe there's something somewhere that explains why this isn't a retarded idea.
At least, I certainly hope so.

Pretty much.

I've been playing since around the end of Burning Crusade. Back in the days before the heirloom items that made leveling so much simpler, back before the 51-point talent trees, and back when a warlock with a fel guard could just spam shadow bolt in kara and still pull fair DPS. Then 3.0 came out and I was confused, but I liked what I saw. The 51-point trees made things a bit more complex, sure, but we got all sorts of awesome spells. Right near Halloween, too!

With 4.0.1 released yesterday, nearly everything has changed. Talent trees were simplified, ammo and soul shards were removed from the game, badges and emblems were converted to justice points and gold, the graphics have been improved, and the tooltips were edited a bit (see Soul Link).

I like to tank on my Death Knight in particular, and the fact that a dedicated tanking tree has been implemented gives me great joy, not only for the fact that I don't have to noodle through each tree to see what works best, but also because there won't be any more debate about whether blood is better than a frost/unholy hybrid like there has been on my server as of late.

Also, shaman tanks anyone?

No I don't think Wow is dead yet. It is getting closer though. I'm not sure how much more story they can pull out of it whithout running out of ideas. I'm not a WoW lore junkie so I could be wrong on that. I think it all depends on how well Cataclysm does. If people burn through it really fast they may start to see subscription numbers start to go down. It also depends on how many new markets (if there are any left?) they can bring WoW to.

While I enjoy WoW and will play at least some of Cataclysm, I'm really looking forward to the next MMO that they do. I'm hoping its an entirely new thing not based on a previous title and that it really revolutionizes the entire mmo industry.

Also, off topic, I'm going to play the hell out of Diablo 3. :)

Thing is, everyone hates every change. But then it's better than the next hated one, and is accepted over time.

I quit playing WoW a long time ago, and I'm glad to see on the poll a lot more free souls!
