Let's be fair shouldn't everybody get a game at a same time. Why should some country get something before another.

Maybe: If it's completely offline I think it shouldn't matter though if it's On-line Competitive I think a global release would be fair.

The problem with a global release date is that in some countries a 3rd party company steps in to translate and often it takes them some time to do it. Do you really want to wait a month or two for a game to be translated to a language that is only applicable in that single country?

And that's fine for people who want their games translated, but that's no reason to delay getting the English language version a month.

But then that defeats the object of a global realease date.

In an ideal world, translation should be part of the development process so that a GRD is possible.

No, I like my games being translated.
Well if release dates had to be pushed back in order to facilitate a global one, eventually you wouldn't realise they were being pushed back. It would be like a normal release date.

OT: That would be great. I'm still waiting for Mass Effect 2 while Americans get priority. Only two days now though!

I live in Canada, and we get the earliest release dates for all of the games I would ever want, alongside the US.

So all those Japanese gamers would have another reason to hate americans then? They wouldn't get their games for a few more months while it's translated and localized?
Well Europeans and Australians already have to wait for Japanese and American games. If it didn't affect production quality then it's fine by me. Eventually I think the industry would adapt to global releases. I'm not saying it's going to happen but I don't really care if the Japanese have to wait that little bit longer. Do you?

Meh, it's not as abd as it used to be.

We get most US releases a few days late because the day the Euro charts reset is different to the US, but three days is not worth complaining about.

As for Far Eastern games, I'd rather wait five months an dget a proper translated version than the hilariously bad Jap-lish that many games seem to arrive with. Of course that so many are delayed so long and arrive with crap translations is grating, but I bet our localised versions aren't much better... if the Japs even carried them in shops, filthy xenophobes...

I'll get the games when I get them, and I honestly don't care if someone halfway across the world gets it a month or two earlier... Besides, it's not like those delays are entirely without reason (usually).

Because it would be utterly pointless? If the game is originally in Japanese and already completed and ready to release it's utterly retarded to make them wait for no reason.
When I said I think the industry would adapt to global releases I meant that eventually there wouldn't be a wait. The dialogue would probably be translated while the game was in production. Besides it doesn't really matter for you, you're from America and get your games released before Europe who have to wait months for some titles. What I am saying is they should devise some sort of a scheme so it could work and not be too costly. I'm sure they could if they put their minds to it.
