Being the animal empathy guru that I am, I was wholeheartedly attached to the little guy. He was the reason I killed Lucien before listening to his monologue.

"Do you really think that-"

*BANG*

"You killed my dog. Shut the fuck up."
i love animals enough so that i spammed shoot to kill him but all im saying is basically really close to what Smugfrog said

I'm half way between yes and no. I liked the Dog - I didn't feel like he got in my way or anything, and I loved his animations and how realistic he could be. On the other hand, it seems like everything that was promised about making you "fall in love" with the dog didn't pan out. It was just another hype that didn't live up to my hopes.
just as this i liked him but hoped for more

I remember reading one of the previews about how they were going to have these "moments" that would try to make you feel pity for the dog, or to make you mad at someone that hurt him. It just felt too "forced" - I don't know how to explain it exactly. I played through it was a good character, but I just didn't feel it. "Oh look, that guy just hurt my dog." No big deal really, just got beat him up then heal the dog.

Also, I got so annoyed by the dog always being scared as a good player. It got to the point I just wanted to punish him for being scared all the time to see if that would stop.

I really tried to feel for the dog, but in the end the only real use I had for him was to find treasure.

Okay a while ago i played Fable2 and i liked it. But what i didnt get is the emotional connection someone felt with the dog. It may be me just being emotionally fucked up or just the fact that i have a real dog but i didnt get the intese feelings i heard someone got for the mutt.
Anyone agree or disagre? (so i can know if im the only one who saw him as a funny minimap=)
I think the dog was the only character in the entire game I felt I had any kind of connection with - did not care much for the older sister really. It was somewhat fun to play fetch with him and it is definitely a benefit having the lil guy around. At the end I felt a little bit of emotion that's for sure.

I liked the dog, although it's kind of a downer that you can't finish the archeologist quest without him, that's why I always choose the needs of the few, since I still haven't found all the hidden goodies scattered around.

even tho i didnt really connect with the dog like i felt i was promised he was still the only character in the game i didnt actively try to kill (unlike reaver, the mage guy, redhead chick and the blind woman..... and every child in the game)

I didn't trust the dog, it bought me treasure and helped impress a demon door but when all was said and done it lived for a very long time. Too long for a normal dog! I think Theresa kept replacing it when it died of old age so you wouldn't be any the wiser. Either that or it was an enchanted dog!

Considering the dog is one of the few things not bugged in the game, he stuck by me when four of my famiilies disappeared. Yeah I have done 4 play throughs of fable 2 all on the good side! The little guy stayed with me after my wife and kids vanished......

I loved my little poochie. Oh dear god my hard hearted cynacism is beginning to crack, though it did make my actual cat jealous!

To an extent, yes. The Dog was NEVER useful, and in fact generally served to get in the way or break the flow by making me follow him across hill and dale just to dig up some trash (( just KNEW that the next time I'd find something epic). That said, thanks mostly to the sheer amount of time you spend with the dog, it seems difficult to not grow a little attached. I was annoyed at the fate of the dog to the point that my final choice in the game was altered because of it - so that has to count for something.

That dog and I had a love hate relationship. There were points where he would mercilessly run over and mangle whoever I knocked to the ground and others when he would get stuck pacing back and forth between the same puddle of water because there was a microscopic spot that was to deep for him and he would keep trying to swim back to shore.

Not much of an attachment to him really, hell I didn't even know you could name him till a friend of mine refered to his as Mr. Scruffers.

If im being honest i thought the dog was somewhat useless.
Sure he'd jump on downed enemies and he'd point out where treasure was hidden but i really didn't see the need in him?
I got more attached to Dogmeat from fallout 3, at least he'd run off and fetch supplies or actually give a raider a run for his money.

The dog was cool. But I didn't connect with him that well. Him constantly ferreting around condoms while I was being attacked by zombies may have something to do with it. He also glitched a lot, but so did everything else in that game.

[spoiler/]I did feel for him when he died it has to be said when I was a good character, so much so that I decided to save him instead of helping the rest of Albion. When I came back with my evil character I just said "fuck it" and took the gold instead. I didn't miss him.[/spoiler]
