There are better, more iconic games of the mid 1990's aside from Fallout 1 and 2. Not everything has to be compared to those games (which is what NMA does nearly every time I'm linked there by someone else who rolls their eyes like I do).
And if you notice, the definition of what is fun and what isn't fun for gamers evolves with time. Not everything is stuck pre-2000. A lot of the games people on NMA calls "horrible" are actually liked by a lot of people today. Technology evolved, as did the way stories are told. Welcome to 2009.Oh, and we did play games for fun before the year 2000.
