I just picked up SWFU from best buy along with a couple of other games. I had $50 in Best Buy coupons so I ended up paying a total of $10.98 for all three games (each were priced at $19.99 and you don't pay tax on the $50 because no cash is exchanged) so I ended up getting each one for about $3.66, done deal.
I'll be honest, the game is not terrible all the way through but it is positively plagued with glitches, wonkey controls, poor design decisions, and piss-poor balancing (as well as some baffling choices to ignore the laws of physics in some cut scenes. What, is there air in space? Oh, and the whole atmospheric entry scene after the first boss fight where he doesn't get cooked and then manages to freefall faster than an object that would be going hundreds of miles per hour!)
Anyway, the game had real potential but it just wasn't realized. There were brief moments where I felt like a badass Jedi/Sith but they just weren't lasting enough. All told I wouldn't want to pay more than $10 for this game and will not purchase any of the DLC. I did read on a forum somewhere (so who knows how true it is?) that the dev team was let go or reassigned before they could finish the product and get proper QA done.
Whatever the reason for the games problems I hope the second one really delivers on those moments of greatness that I saw. Got my fingers crossed and hopefully we'll all soon be wielding badass force powers with control and style.
