I came up:
Your temperment is phlegmatic. The phlegmatic temperament is fundamentally relaxed and quiet, ranging from warmly attentive to lazily sluggish. Phlegmatics tend to be content with themselves and are kind. They are accepting and affectionate. They may be receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are consistent, relaxed, calm, rational, curious, and observant, qualities that make them good administrators. They can also be passive-aggressive.

I can see it, but I thought Melancholic sounded cooler.

I love personality tests. :p

My personality has a tendency to cycle over time - I'm somewhere between melancholic and phlegmatic. The test came back phlegmatic, but I bet if I took it in a month, it'd come back melancholic.

I thought I'd be melancholic and that's what I got. Pretty much everything about melancholics describes me to some degree except for poetry/art/inventing (unless you consider problem solving similar enough to invention).

OK, did your test. Result being choleric.

Thing is, I am all and none of the above. My personality and the use of my flesh and wits is pretty fragmented and all over the place, so just going for one mode and sticking to it would be very detrimental to my well-being.

Sort of like... we have tested your psyche and personality and whatnot and we have come up with this car to best reflect your personality. It has only two gears (reverse and the third) and two tyres are carved from rare wood. Enjoy your ride' - doesn't work for me. Life has to be lived to the very end and I don't see these decidedly philosophical, non-scientific takes being very helpful in my experience. They're interesting to read through and offer some insight into how a lot of folks seem to be working, but I put them into my religious and ideological bullshit, divination and horoscope drawer half a life ago and hardly ever looked back. The very moment you tell people to pick one of those flavours and stick to them for all their lives is the moment you start messing with things that generally shouldn't be messed with.

If one refuses to be put into drawers, eventually, one seems to fit into pretty much all the drawers... and none of them. But that's OK, as it really doesn't matter. Go discuss these issues with a dog. Or a busy ant population. Or some lava flowing your way. They'll all tell you that other, more real things matter much more.

I was thinking Phlegmatic, and that's what I got. Describes me pretty well if I do say so myself.

Judging myself, I'm Phlegmatic. I fit the description to a t, it's almost word-for-word how I describe myself, and that makes it really easy to choose.

The test backed me up on that too, so yay I guess.

Sanguine. Huh. Reading the descriptions I thought for sure I'd be Phlegmatic, but honestly, going back and reading them after I received my results I can see myself as Sanguine.

The test described me as Choleric but I fit the description of Melancholic far better.

Neither, since this stuff is about as accurate or relevant as astrology. It might be an entertaining little game that might prompt, say, elementary schoolers to do some introspection with a subtle nudge, but otherwise it's as silly and false as any pseudo-science can get.

I'm Sanguine with elements of Phlegmatic. I thought the word "Sanguine" was for vampires though.

Sanguine, from Latin sanguineus, meaning "bloody", "of blood". It has been associated with vampires, but that's not its only meaning.

Outwardly I'm pretty Phlegmatic, but I'm actually quite Sanguine.

The test said I was Melancholic.

So if anything can actually be considered valid, its that I'm not choleric.

I guessed Melancholic, and ended up with Phlegmatic, which would have taken my second guess. I enjoy this sort of post, I hope to see more from OP in the future.

The test results said phlegmatic, which I agree with, though I feel I'm more of a mix of phlegmatic and melancholic.

There are acquaintances and people you have to interact with in order to move the day along. Social interaction, despite fulfilling tasks it was meant to without major issues, is nonetheless a bother (while some may be pleasant, they are tiring all the same). If a day can be spent without socializing, uttering a word, spoken or otherwise, it is generally spent as such. There may be bouts of activity, fallowed by a long silence.

The person, to whom your reply was intended seems to be somewhat more social however, at least here on the escapist.
But you must have some need for socialising too, I take that again from you being active on a internetforum.

I tried that whole friends thing and pretending to be normal and outgoing, it ended up making me depressed and exhausted. I do love my family, but everyone is mentally ill to some degree and we stick together because no one else would understand. No one in my family has many friends. Even then I don't need to talk to them daily.

The ideas of people are interesting, which is why I love games and any method of storytelling but you also don't have the hassle of actually dealing with them. On the internet it doesn't matter what someone far away thinks since they have no affect on your life. If you noticed Silverbeard's reaction and treating me like a serial killer I've gotten that reaction plenty of times before. It's a lot worse dealing with it in real life than on the internet.
Do you mean "everyone is mentally ill" literal and all your (close) family members have diagnosable medical conditions, or is it an exaggeration?

As for the serialkiler thing, I think Silverbeard was exaggerating since the mental issues that are found in serielkillers are always more complex and twisted than "I hate people".

To both of you:

You both describe social interactions as tiring/exshausting. Does that mean you feel very tense in social situations? Or how do I have to imagine this feeling, that exshausts you?

I ask about tense, since my general observation/theory about alot of introverts is, that alot of the stress they feel in social interactions comes from the subconcious fear of rejection. That fear is an instinct we have from the old days (I mean old days like cave painting and flintstone spear, not tophat and monocle) when being rejected by your social circle could mean death.

Since this the vast majority in this threat seems to be introverted: Everyone feel free to comment on that.

None of the above and a lot of the above, I would have thought Melancholic but I got Phlegmatic so I went back to see if I was wrong and realized I drew a lot from all sorts of categories', the problem to me is there isn't simply 4 kinds of people in the world and there are vastly more personality types then this so nothing like that could ever accurately describe everyone, also a lot of the questions are self reflection and not necessarily accurate so much as how we see ourselves. But anyway , that's my 2 cents

I would consider myself melancholic but the test said I was choleric. I don't see the relevance with these kinds of definitions.

Actual need to socialize comes into play when, as said, it is needed to move the day along. Unless it is needed or I want to express an opinion or a question relating to some matter, I stay quiet. The slightly increased daily activity on the internet is mostly due to presence of subjects of interest and like-minded opinions.
I can not say that my general dislike of social interaction stems from fear of rejection, at least not that I am aware of and I could not care less, people come and people go. Aside from that, apparently I am a pleasant person to be around, although I do not know how many of those, who have said that, actually meant it but again, as said, I could not care less.

I do not know exactly the 'how?' and 'why?' but I just feel exhausted after some time of face interaction. The length of time of how long I can go until the warning signs go off in my head varies.
Regarding on-line interaction, there have been lapses lasting months, at one time I stayed quiet for a year. I was still there, lurking about but I did not step out of the shadows.

Apparently I am choleric, despite having said no to most of the defining traits.

I dislike being shoe horned into something so, litterally, square definitions.
