with any luck handheld consoles will be quickly swept under the table so that they can stop KILLING PROPER GAMING.
What do you mean? Do you have a portable 360 the world should know about?
I wish, its just that every single game I see for the handheld systems is made of pure, undiluted, unadulterated Fail. Note to handheld fanbois, I have very little interest in hearing you recommend your favourite pieces of pure, undiluted, unadulterated Fail.
Just an fyi to no one in particular, not everyone has the time to go find a TV or a computer to game on. Some of us have to travel a few hundred miles a day or sit in a damn airport or bus depot for 1-3 hours and just do a lot of ***** work to do an an office. For those people I would rather have a hand held. Some counciltards think that hand held systems aren't worth it but they don't understand the meaning of "work" or "movement" because they have unlimited time and resources built up in his parents basement.

And this is why I see a return in the Sega Nomad.

Kindle is the best handheld console ever.
I agree, I can finally carry a shit ton of my favorite books without it taking up more space than a couple thin books put together. Id rather read than game if I'm traveling.

DS. Even if it has less power, it makes up with creative and thoughtful game design.

And it has better FPS controls than the PSP. How the fuck does that happen?

anything that is seriously made for gaming (not the Iphone/Ipod) may emerge as the champ

of course we may one day have a cellphone/Ipod/serious gaming device

Apparently the Wii has really good FPS controls too. This is most certainly wierd.

While I prefer the DS I do think what we're seeing with the iPhone as pretty indicative of the future.

The psp could have been great but a I Buy Power Battalion laptop is where I do my portable gaming.

With the DSi's addition of downloadable games, I think this one will be the future. Wiiware has some great titles and DSi has the same potential. Also, Nintendo could possibly put a virtual console on the DSi for all the old GB/GBC games you can't play anymore. I still have the original DS so I can play GBA games.
